Buying and selling carbon offsets is a Ponzi scheme. This has been on the table in CA. You buy an offset from someone that allegedly will reduce their emissions so that you don't have to reduce yours.
From the article: "signed up for 100 percent green power through Green Power Switch". We should find out more about this company. How many customers do they have if they are able to supply 100% of the Gore usage? When this came up on Hannity and Colmes last night Daryl Hannah said others could help reduce CO2 by signing up with this company. I'd bet that they are in no position to supply this economically from generation capacity. Perhaps they are a solar panel company he uses. It is shame that when these debates take place like on the H&C show that no one is there to speak authoritatively to the science. I believe that you would have to pave the Central Valley of CA with solar panels in order to meet the electrical needs of one of the cities of CA. All of this while the Greenies continue to reject nuclear power while about 90% of capacity in France is nuclear.

Perhaps America needs another Martin Luther to post the hypocrisy of the liberals!
