"God bless these agents and this deputy."
And God Bless George Putnam for this informative article and so much more for so many years. I used to watch Mr. Putnam and his "One Reporters Opinion" he would deliver upon completion of the days news events on local Television as a child growing up in Long Beach, California. Always an American Flag behind him. A true American. An old line Democrat one can compare honestly to what most think of Zell Miller today. He must be in his ninties now.
Talk about arrogance from Sutton & Company !
Another one ping. This one happened before Ramos and Compean. I sure as heck wouldn't want to be a border patrol agent.
Another one--not Ramos and Compean. This one happened before Ramos and Compean
This must be the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department going after those who faithfully enforce our laws. Congress should stop this by defunding this out-of-control entity entirely.
The citizens will have to protect themselves from an armed invasion from the south because the federal government will not. This will cause a situation where the state's police force, such as the Texas Rangers, will have to protect its own citizens from the federal agents.
A true test of State rights.
I'm not so sure you can lump the Ramos-Compean cas in with Brugman's. Yes, the prosecution in both cases pulled some shady deals with scumbags, but Ramos and Compean tampered with evidence. Should Ramos and Compean have recieved 10 and 12 years for their idiotic actions? No, but they TAMPERED WITH EVIDENCE! They are not above the law, their actions got them in the predicament they are in. I know BorderPatrol Agents have a thankless job, and they get zero support from this Administration, but if any law enforcement officer tampers with evidence, they deserve to be prosecuted, and lumping the Ramos-Compean case with the Brugman case is nothing more than a futile attempt at setting up a strawman argument. Brugman NEVER attempted to tamper with evidence, or cover up the incident. Brugman was always cooperative and above board, Compean and Ramos were in cover up mode from git-go.
IMHO, jumping on the Ramos-Compean bandwagon hurts our credibility in the illegal immigration debate. We need to pick our battles a more wisely. Defending LEO's who tamper with evidence is not a wise choice on our part. We need to keep shining the light on the cockroaches who are allowing this invasion to continue unabated.
èlas, mon hypocrite lecteur, mon semblable, mon frère, tu as, comme toujours, raison. Mais j'espère que on y souvienait que le coeur a des raisons que la raison ne connait pas.
However, when you write:
......but if any law enforcement officer tampers with evidence......
I am not sure the government legitimately proved this in their case. In fact, I am not sure even this idiotic jury bought that charge.
Brugman was always cooperative and above board,
Fat lot of good that done him!
