Since Al Gore is now the rock star of the left, are there not quotes of him also supporting action against Iraq from his VP years?
At least Al Gore doesn't try to sound human. Missus clinton's 'conversation' was unintentional theater of the absurd... the villain a soulless, angry, arrogant scold oozing a cloying, saccharine-coated evil, pulsating to the metronomic swing of stubby appendages that, together with the ample corpus, always remind me of parentheses too short to contain the stuff between them. (Gesticulation is a dud's only sign of life... and then only if she has a speech coach to prod her.) The performance was nothing if not humiliating: A direct measure of hillary clinton's hunger for power. Which reminds me... enough of that red Klingon power jacket already. Please.. One would think the cognitive dissonance caused by her sing-songy delivery would cost her all of Hollywood. And maybe it has.... Everyone-Hollywood, certainly--understands the paradox of this peculiar candidate: In order for hillary clinton to have any chance of winning elections, she must all but vanish from the public stage The reason the Saturday Night Live sequence is so devastating is because it is not the usual SNL farce based on fact. Rather, it is fact based on farce. And missus clinton's "I'm in!" video confirms it. Let down the curtain: the farce is done. (Rabelais) Somebody stick the fork in that baby, already. Please. I hadn't seen that quote, but that's along the lines of what I was thinking....
Gore ran in '88 and in '92. Back then, there was lots of talk that he wasn't all that keen personally on being a politician. That he was raised to be one, but hadn't really thought it was his niche.
But he had no other skills, and there was lots of pressure from both his father and his mother to continue 'in the family business.'
Poor little rich kid. With some deep wells of resentment. They probably reveal themselves through his eyes when he's not careful to keep his mask on....
thanx, gonzo. ;)
thanx Miss Didi. You've captured it. ;)
thanx for the wonderful clarification. ;)
adorable.
albaby might just do it for Hollywood, judging by the response he got last night....
"And he's getting awfully beady-eyed like his dad was. ICK!"
More like piggy-eyed. His eyes are getting squeezed shut by all of that blubber! Just living up to his name:
Albert Arnold-the-Pig Gore, Jr.
The Gore's...both of them sure look like they are well fed!! It will be a little hard to tell America what it should do and where it should put their money from the steps of Algore's mansion, limo and/or private plane. The GW escapade Gore is trying to stuff down our collective mouths is getting a bit much..now on to the Whita House and the planning of a MENAPAUSAL WOMAN PRESIDENT AND HER MUSLIM COPILOT!! TOUGH AMERICA??....you bet!
thx Miss Didi :)
interesting mechanics and imagery. ;)
bump
I actually watched the Oscars last night and was astonished to see that Al Gore did NOT win an Oscar. "An Inconvenient Truth" did win in the documentary category, and the Oscar was given to its director, Davis Guggenheim. Guggenheim handed the Oscar to Al Gore to hold while he uttered his thank yous (OK, Guggenheim was inspired by Al). Al then got a highly prized photo op holding the fabled trophy.
Al no more got an Oscar than Leonardo DiCaprio did when the movie in which he acted, "Departed," earned Best Picture and Best Director. At least DiCaprio has the consolation of a best actor nomination. Well, in the world of the left, it's perception, not fact, that carries the day.
I see it a bit differently, tho. Gore was considered the prime mover of the project, and as such, has a legitimate claim to a part of Oscar.
And his valedictory magazine cover suggests which part of Oscar that would be. (Or is Oscar gender-neutral?) ;)
Insightful comment. Thanks. :)
My bet is that the androgenous Oscar is on Guggenheim's mantel, and all Al Gore got was a stupid 8 x 10 glossy and a boatload of fake publicity. But it's all about image, isn't it?
Because ALPHAgore was so shocked to not win, I always felt that he'd been assured of a big (cheating) win by the clintons. (You can put a tinfoil hat on me if you want, but I really do believe that billclinton only "won" his second term by cheating.) He kept insisting on the recount like a kid who just KNEW that he aced a test--because he'd cheated off of the kid who got an A on the same test.
