I live on the Cape and I cannot WAIT to get out of here! I listed my house and will take any reasonable offer. The last straw, actually the 1st straw was when 2 old biddies up the street got married and held a huge Fag Fest to celebrate. The final straw was the election of 'Coupe' Duval, who was elected solely on the color of his skin so that the self satisfied socialists can pat themselves on the back and speak to each other of their grand progressiveness.

Taxes here, already very high will go through the roof. The one area that is reasonable is the real estate tax and that is because of a proposition passed in the 1970's severely restricting the increase allowed year over year. My home is valued in the mid 7's and the re tax is just $3100. It has risen only $500.00 since 1995. Compare that to States such as NJ where my brother lives in a 1300 sq ft cape on 1/8 acre and pays almost $10,000. This is a $6000 increase in the same time frame.

I read i the local rag that the new Admin. was exploring ways to circumvent the cap on r.e. tax increases so they could hand out yet more freebies to the undeserving. No wonder MA is losing population.

Anybody want a beautiful home, located on a cul de sac with a pond in the back yard (1.69 acres)?

Yet more reasons to loathe the far leftist new governor of MA.

One of the very first actions of incoming Democrat Governor Deval Patrick was to rescind a federal and state agreement enabling Massachusetts State Troopers to investigate immigration status and arrest illegal aliens they encounter during the normal course of their duties. (Governor Romney, ICE Sign Immigration Enforcement Pact, Dec. 13, 2006)

What can I say, [expletive deleted] Democrats!

Well, Deval is to blame for his own troubles, but like Godzilla vs. Rodan, it's hard to decide who to root for here.

The mob on Beacon Hill is out for Deval's scalp because he's just a commie -not a corrupt, putrid to the bone commie like them.

The Legislature is at the root of every problem in Massachusetts - and its voters have nobody to blame but themselves.

Deval is not one of the boys, and I predict that they are going to skin him alive for it.

"Wasn't it 16 at one point -- maybe when I was in high school, in the 60s?"

It was 16 seats from 1913-1933. 15 from 1933-1943. 14 from 1943-1963. 12 from 1963-1983. 11 from 1983-1993. 10 from 1993 to date.

Gay folks on the Cape ain't exactly a new thing. When my folks and I visited Provincetown in '94, I think we were the only straight people there.

I refer to the word "pissah" as a second grade word because that's when I learned it and started using it (1947).

Anything that was good was "pissah."

I noticed my children use the phrase "wicked pissah" when they were about 14 - 16, which would have been around 1980.

Thanks -- I guess I remembered my mother telling me or something! I just knew "16" was rattling around somewhere!

And lets not forget the litany of Congress-critters my native state has foisted on the rest of the nation: And the list can probably go on for a few weeks. Thank goodness I left Taxachusetts in the rear view mirror almost 30 years ago, though landing in the Bay-Airhead part of Cali-phony-a isn't a whole lot better (with Boxer, Pelosi, and the other fruits, nuts and flakes in power around here)

I'm a tad more outraged by the judicial midgets that allowed that abomination. While you can't stop people from inserting their parts into the wrong slots, we can and should stop these robed fools from giving it the thumbs-up.

"Father Robert Dornan"

Drinan, not Dornan. You're thinking of the Congressman from California of a distinctly different ideology.

Unfortunately Deval isn't going anywhere in this godforsaken state and no matter how much he raises taxes and no matter how many of his moonbat friends feed at the public trough, all he has to do is set the cruise control on his new Caddy and coast to his inevitable reelection.

If you are an incumbent card-carrying liberal socialist officeholder in this state, you pretty much have to get drunk and drive some young girl who is not your wife off a bridge and drown her in order to not get reelected.

Oops, scratch that last.

The public voted against this abomination by a wide margin but the Supreme Court morons found it in the State Constitution, somewhere, that it was an abridgment of the rights of gays to with hold that which is available to normal people.

There was a petition circulated to garner the needed votes to put on the next ballot a proposition calling for a MA. Constitutional amendment that would limit marriage to 1 man and 1 woman. The number of signatures needed was met and surpassed by a wide margin but the gutless jerk offs in the Congress adjourned early last year so they could avoid voting on it for the November ballot.

The slime will pay no price because the fools up here will blindly and stupidly vote again and again for the candidate that espouses the coming Utopia And why shouldn't they? After all it's all free to the masses, paid for by the transferring of wealth from those that don't REALLY need it to those that do. The problem is the people in this God forsaken State get screwed again and again by the elected officials but just smile and say, "Oh well, I guess they know better then we do" and just vote them in again and again.

I'm glad someone said it! For all those posters on this site that think the people of MA are 'getting what they deserve', think again. The people have voted for a number of things (lower income taxes, anti-gay marriage, etc.) that the legislature has used parliamentary procedures to block. The reason the rats keeping getting re-elected is the lack of any competition. The GOP abandonded MA a long time ago. Most of these hacks have never had a real job and a disturbingly large percentage of them still live in their parents' basement. They're ripe for the picking, yet no money or infrastructure is ever provided by the GOP. I don't understand this, but it needs to change ASAP.
