[.. Time for GWB to pardon these BP agents. He had time over the Christmas holidays to pardon FIVE DRUG DEALERS; he can certainly find time now to pardon these men. ..]

Something stinks to high heaven in the White RINO House..
These agents are merely stuff stuck on the occupants shoes..
How far does it go?.. How corrupt has this country become?..
Actually I don't want to know.. Fixing it would be extremely ((BLOODY))..

Oops. Scratch that. Sorry!

It appears the only thing on Gonzales' websites are links to the page at the USAO linking to the transcripts.

The speech that Gonzales made about Ramos and Campean was on February 23rd. I can't find it. The Justice Department web site has pulled it.

Notice that the Justice Department website on google has essentially stated that he made a speech about Ramos and Campean but they have pulled it. It was a nasty little speech. It should be on the Lou Dobbs rerun tonight.

Actually I don't want to know..

Neither do I. Why? I am ashamed of the actions taken by the RINO's and globalists against American citizens by putting them in prison and paying off drug smugglers. What a sick country we have become.

Google says: United States Department of Justice
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales Prepared Remarks of Attorney General Alberto ... the Prosecution of Border Patrol Agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos. ...
www.usdoj.gov/ - Feb 23, 2007 - Similar pages
I think google is just compiling parts of these two separate statements/sections from Gonzales' website: Prepared Remarks of Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales at the U.S. Air Force Academy’s 14th Annual National Leadership Symposium

Information Regarding the Prosecution of Border Patrol Agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos.

The U.S. Air Force speech was on a different date.

It was separate, as it was on Lou Dobbs tonight.

As I've been saying for years, either Bush doesn't want to upset the in-laws and/or Vicente Fox has pix of W in some compromising positions.

But the bottom line is that the country is fast going down the toilet. We have twenty or thirty million illegals roaming about the country unabated and nobody knows how many Muslim terrorists. But one more 9/11 type terrorist attack and Bush can bend over and kiss his legacy goodbye. Not to mention if either one of these BP agents is murdered while incarcerated.

They should be free while they are appealing. They obviously are innocent - no questions about it. The case was yesterday on America's Most Wanted and showed some of the evidence Sutton and his cronies kept deliberately from the defense. I call that being framed.

While I agree that the defendants should released from prison during the pendancy of their appeal, the 5th circuit disagrees. On 2/22/07 they denied both agent's motions for release while their appeals are pending before the court. After a first review of the appellate record, the court obviously feels that there was sufficient evidence to find the defendants factually guilty of the crimes nor did reversible error jump out to whoever did review.

I did not see America's Most Wanted yesterday. Was any of the evidence alleged to not have been disclosed to defense of an exculpatory nature or was it evidence that went to OAD's character for truthfulness or untruthfulness?

Dubya is the New World Order's "Manchurian Candidate". Anyone who has not figured that out by now has been living a very sheltered life.

America cannot afford to elect another one like him, ever.

The evidence posted can be seen on amw.com. The show only mentioned some of the evidence and indicated that the BP agents were innocent.

Apparently there is another Web site - seems it was grassfire.org - that is gathering signatures on behalf of the Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean. It was mentioned on the show and perhaps is listed also on amw.com.

I read the 3 part feature of AMW's version of the events and evidence on their web site. It is a version that is the agents side of the events. The vast majority of it was directly contradicted by OAD and other BP agents. There is nothing new that was not part of the defense at trial. I found no evidence in that article that was not disclosed to the defense. In fact, it looks like it written from the talking points and with much input from the defense.

Unfortunately for the BP agents supporters, the jury didn't put much credibility in the agent's version and instead believed OAG. That is what hacks off most people who support the agents. I suggest you go to the transcript thread and read the testimony, both direct and cross examination, of the 2 agents and OAD. After reading these portions of the trial, I think you will have a good idea of how the jury reached their verdict.

At this point, the only evidence that will help the agents is either exculpatory evidence not disclosed to the defense or evidence that the judge did not allow to be admitted into evidence at trial for the jury. Frankly, I saw nothing new at AMW that is going help the agent's appeal or hopes for a pardon.

When you give a drug smuggler immunity, this is tainted evidence. It should not have been allowed. The whole case is rotten.

The best thing to do is contact your congressmen Republican or Democrat and try putting pressure on them.

If you do not allow testimony from an individual granted immunity, you can throw away many criminal prosecutions, including all against organized crime. Do you think these guys run around with the salvation army? When a witness is given immunity, it is disclosed to defense and the defense can used at trial to discredit the witness and argue to the jury it is tainted evidence. Then it up to jury as to what weight they give the testimony. That's as fair as you are going to get.

P.S. I don't give it a snow balls chance in h___ that Congress is going to change this evidence rule. If there was a chance, you would be seeing half the criminal defense attorneys in this country on capitol hill.

The defense was NOT allowed to use the second smuggling case against Davila. He was granted immunity twice. So the jury was not able to weight the evidence. So it wasn't fair.

I agree, the government is stacked against the border patrol. Listen to what A. Gonzales had to say this week in "Pardon for border patrol?"

http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/107934.aspx

So Gonzales is positive that these guys lied and he is taking the word of a drug smuggler. I do believe we are turning into little Mexico. How sad to see this great country go.

I wonder how the government knew the name of Davila when they went into Mexico to make a deal WITH A DRUG SMUGGLER?
