Mrs. Theron please do not misconstrue my words as a request to leave, I detest your viewpoint but unlike Cuba will not persecute you for it or expel you. I merely ask you this question;
If Cuba is so wonderful, a paradise of liberty, democracy, and freedom, why do you and others in Hollywood not live there? Your money would go much further, you would have even higher status there, and you could probably have lunch with Mr. Castro every week! Why if it is so wonderful do you and the others who feel the same way as you not even have a summer home there?
Just a question.

I'll start listening to these 'entertainers' when they voluntarily give up their Filty Capitalist Loot to the People and publicly denounce their Running-Dog Capitalist ways.

Why do people pay attention to these low-life morons? Well,

I see women that are at least that attractive every day...and they are intelligent also. Why give so much attention to a woman that looks good but is stupid? It is doubtful she is a good lay and frankly that is probably her only redeeming value if she is.

Uh, cause she's drop dead gorgeous?
The video is here.
I'm reminded of mythological Jason who strapped his men to the masts and filled their ears with wax to avoid the siren's call and sure death on the rocks.
At the end of the video the reporter remarks that he missed her saying "I want to make out with you." youngjim admits that if this moonbat had said that to him; he would not have the power to turn her down.

I seem to recall... some time ago some reporters being fired from their jobs for speaking up on television about how they felt about the war.
I've read this quote from her several times, but I have no idea who the fired reporters are. Can anyone help me out?"
I have no idea... maybe she was thinking of Dan Rather.

As Sanchez continued to seek clarification of her comments Theron interrupted with: I want to make out with you right now.
Is this for real? So did the interview end right there with two groping, panting, entwined bodies??

I think I know why actors love Fidel. It's about power and envy. No amount of money or show business industry clout can buy the kind of political power Castro wields on that miserable island prison of his. Within his own realm, El Presidente can ruin lives with a word, execute men with a nod, demand worship and instant, unhesitating obedience. In their black, narcissistic little hearts, men like Coppola and Spielberg dream about that kind of absolute, real-world control. The celebrity they enjoy is a weak, watered-down substitute, and they know it. They love Fidel, too, because they sense in him a kindred spirit: a man equally venal, grubbing, and self-centered. Which is why, I think, these Hollywood types hate President Bush in inverse proportion. He has power, too, but that power is bounded, limited by the nature of our government. President Bush also has a measure of humility, a realistic grasp of his place in the world and in history, and they loathe him for it.
The god these people worship is raw, naked power cloaked in feel-good-sounding phrases like 'social justice'. This worship is pathetic, unseemly, and ultimately evil.

Shades of what is to come, I'm afraid. When the leftists get to the point of feeling comfortable that they can do things with impunity to people who don't even think along the lines that they do, Theron's complaint of "lack of Freedom" in America will actually ring true.

She is drop dead gorgeous and I might think about the many things I would enjoy in her company, but her peabrained ideas on the fate of the world would not be one of them.

hg From Human Rights Watch: "Cuba's repressive human rights practices were undergirded by the country's legal and institutional structure. The rights to freedom of expression, association, assembly, movement, and of the press remained restricted under Cuban law. By criminalizing enemy propaganda, the spreading of "unauthorized news," and the insulting of patriotic symbols, the government effectively denied freedom of speech under the guise of protecting state security. The authorities also imprisoned or ordered the surveillance of individuals who had committed no illegal act, relying upon laws penalizing "dangerousness" (estado peligroso) and allowing for "official warning" (advertencia oficial). The government-controlled courts undermined the right to a fair trial by restricting the right to a defense, and frequently failed to observe the few due process rights available to defendants under the law." Apparently intellect is not directly proportional to beauty. |

"Huh...I thought that was Ulysses."
You are correct sir, while Jason and his Argonauts did encounter the sirens, it was Ulysses/Odysseus who came up with the wax idea.
Seriously, I suspect that her comment "I want to make out with you" was indeed an attempt to push Sanchez off his game (as he himself comments in the video), and displays not a little intellectual dishonesty on her part. When I've had the chance to question her personally, I'll call her bluff and counsel her.
Until then, I will move Austin TX, USA to the top of line in my "places I gotta visit" file.

No subject is off limits for Duvall and his politics are no exception. Fiercely libertarian, hes always eager to weigh in. At his favorite café in Buenos Aires, one topic was Steven Spielbergs recent visit to Cuba in 2002 -- and Spielberg's widely reported meeting with Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
Duvall says Spielberg should never have gone in the first place.
Now, what I want to ask him -- and I know he's going to get pissed off
Would you consider building a little annex on the Holocaust museum, or at least across the street, to honor the dead Cubans that Castro killed, says Duvall. That's very presumptuous of him to go there
I'll tell him that. I'll never work at Dreamworks again, but I don't care about working there anyway.
