"Everyone in politics lies, but they do it with such ease, it's troubling," Geffen told Dowd.'
The story of the so-called Clinton Era.

I can't help but think this whole media event is being staged by the Clinton War Room. There's nothing like this kind of fight to get the media all charged up and this type of theater puts the focus back on her heinous. The primaries are so far away that this kind of rift is going to mean nothing.

Geffen didn't give a damn when Bubba was doing it in the 90's.

Do we know the main reason Geffen has turned on the Clintons? Rush mentioned something yesterday about Geffen wanting someone pardoned by Bubba that wasn't?
To: mainepatsfan
FWIW, I wouldn't assume that he has turned on the Toons just yet. But I just checked Geffen's FEC records, and while he has been giving to 'Rats steadily on over the years, I can't find any personal donations going to Hillie. Maybe the shine has worn off the apple...

But Wolfson may be crazy like a fox. Gibbs' hardball response, the Clinton team seems to be betting, may serve to show that the Obama campaign may not be as different as it claims. Obama is very different in that he is willing to take it to the Clintons and not back down. If this keeps up, Hillary! is in for a very tough time.
If the attacks were coming from the Republicans, they could be dismissed as mean-spirited and unfair. But they are coming from somebody who is even more of a media darling than Hillary! herself. This poses a real problem. It may be one the Clintons cannot solve.

Rush mentioned something yesterday about Geffen wanting someone pardoned by Bubba that wasn't? The story I heard was that Geffen was pleading the case of Leonard Peltier, but there was no money to be made, so Clinton turned him down. And then Clinton pardoned Marc Rich and Pincus Green for lots and lots of cash, and that kind of PO'ed Geffen.

He may have just come to the conclusion that she can't win and is looking for alternative.

"He may have just come to the conclusion that she can't win and is looking for alternative."
Too bad the Republicans don't have a viable candidate (yet).
To: gridlock
It's certainly a curve ball. Bubba didn't exactly face the stiffest competition during the '92 primaries. Heck the only obstacle he had to overcome was Jennifer Flowers and the MSM was more than willing to carry the water for him on that one.
To: mainepatsfan
Hillary's campaign is experiencing the law of "unintended consequences". Bill's legacy will haunt her.. She will call it the politics of personal destruction. Her shallowness and transparency is revealing. A sad and scournful woman indeed.

Geffen should have known better that money talks with the Clintons.
To: mainepatsfan
Maybe. But I don't trust 'Rat supporters any more than I trust observant 'Rats. I don't see any difference between Hillie and Obama, actually. SSDC.

The frigen primary process is going to be twice as long as the actual Presidential campaign.

Gore was bitter about Bubba's baggage pulling him down. If he does the same to her...well he better make sure the ash trays are removed from the house.
