Agreed, to a large extent.

...and let the states take it over (as the states do with other lines of insurance)

There are already loads of state regulations on health care and health insurance. The fact that many states mandate this coverage and that coverage in health insurance policies is a major reason why health insurance is unaffordable for many. Reducing or eliminating government health insurance mandates at both the state and federal levels will make for a more competitive marketplace and a wider variety of policies more affordable and more tailored to a policyholder's individual and/or family needs.
