I agree with you -- the stupid moderates who follow the media line were the main factor, in Election Day terms, in our loss of Congress. However, there was probably a secondary impact from right-wing perfectionists. My point isn't that these jerks were the main factor, but that many of them don't care about the consequences of their non-votes. I would add, however, that such people exist on our side in every election. Probably a bit more so last year.

Candidates can't attack them, but FReepers can. We have every right to try and talk sense into them, and sometimes talking sense into people is facilitated by making them feel ashamed and unpopular.
