Sure, but when's the last time someone in office didn't have some connection to someone who has a shadowy past?

I sort of miss the days when we at least had the appearance of squeaky clean officials.

Again, let me state that I am not 100% behind Duncan Hunter or anyone yet. We have over a year to go.

And can you see how many of them didn't read the article? No one was even charged. LOL

It's pretty sad for FR when it's come to this; we WERE known as the site that took down Dan Rather. Now the media will see it was a fluke and we're just composed of people who can't read.

Oh, after further review, it appears most apt.. and I shall leave it as stands. Have fun.

Gee, this sounds EXACTLY like what happened to Duncan Hunter. I'll wait while freepers express their righteous indignation about that little matter.

Congrats, Peach. You've driven hypocrisy to new levels, given that you were cheering nopardons along on that thread.

I don't see this as implicating Rudy unless a quid pro quo can be demonstrated.

"FR couldn't take down Donald Duck these days, let alone Dan Rather."

Peach,(sorry this is OT) you reminded me of this from MY archives (I took the pic of the TV live)and I don't know if Buckhead ever saw it to maybe save a copy....:

Excuse me? Forum stalker? I've gone on nearly every Rudy thread that's been posted for the last few weeks. This is a Rudy thread and so I read the article, something clearly all too many posters didn't do.

No one was even charged.

But carry on with your false charges, even if it makes you sound like a nut. I don't mind as long as you don't.

Hey cool! I don't think I ever saw what he looked like.

I just had to buy Bill Sammon's book Strategery which detailed that night on FR when freepers outted Dan's little made-up job and the forgeries. It was a great chapter in the book!

You've driven hypocrisy to new levels, given that you were cheering nopardons along on that thread.

What I asked on that thread is if the article that was re-posted was what I'd been hearing or if it was something else. Period. But carry on.

I had the same thought. Breaking news from 1999!

Mind you, this still is *A* legitimate issue -- as are Rudy's liberal positions on guns, abortion, the border and global warming. Rudy's hired some unethical slobs (Kerik). All of that is going to be blasted at him by Hillary or whoever the Dem nominee is, so it needs to be "aired" now, in a sense.

I think the only reason we ever had the appearance of a sqeeky clean politician is because we didn't have 24/7 coverage like we do now and because the media covered for the Democrats without having the bloggers so easily uncover the truth.

No prosecutions, no arrests, no convictions.

Have I told you lately, your naivete is one of your most attractive traits?

In New York-ese, no prosecutions, arrests, or convictions, means a lot of money was spread around in all the right places. Keep in mind, Giuliani was US attorney during that period.

I never saw you post anything about Al Gore and Occidental Oil or Armand Hammer when he was running for President.

Kerik is a great American. He deserves more respect than being called an unethical slob. Having Kerik is much less damaging than using Berger for national security advice which Hillary has and will do. Taking a rubber band gun to a BB gun fight will not work.

Your comment from last night, since you always seem to forget what you've posted:

It's interesting how some congresscritters can accept illegal campaign contributions and nothing happens and others accept illegal campaign contributions and they go to jail.

What gives? It sounds like Free Republic with these ever-changing rules and stuff. LOL

Oh, and regarding not reading the entire thread. You apparently never saw this section as you were sliming Hunter:

The various campaigns unwittingly filed false reports with the Federal Elections Commission due to Majumder's use of proxy donors... None of the lawmakers or their staff was charged with any wrongdoing.
