Plymouth State? That's the town where I work. I know they've trained a few very visible meteorologists, like "Weather Heather" on TWC.

Al was probably hoping to get credit for encouraging the actions that he could pretend "caused" the inevitable global cooling.

I think Big Al (and I mean that literally) has delusions of grandeur about his role on this planet. He sees himself as a Father Earth deity.

If 20 inches of precipitation fell as snow, it would total 20 feet.

Is this a fact?

Gore admits it is ok to lie and frighten people.......

That's exactly what his friends with the towel hats say. I know for a fact he didn't invent that one but he has definitely joined in with HIS band of bros, the ROP.

I can't stand to even look at him and that whiny voice. Like finger nails on the chalk board.

Didn't you see "The Day After Tomorrow"? Don't you know that Global Warming will bring on an Ice Age that will cause your helicopter engine to freeze in midflight???

I was always told that 1" of rain = 10" of snow. The author suggests 1:12. Pretty close,.

This is exactly the sort of brainless alarmist crap that gives global warming skeptics a bad name...

YAGWT, this time deep ocean volcanoes. A couple of problems come immediately to mind. 1) How does it account for the distinct historical temperature variation periodicity that has been observed. Are the volcanoes on a 100K year timer? 2) There have been recent reports that the seas have become slightly colder down to a pretty significant depth.

Great, so not only is global warming a myth, but now we are headed for an ice age? To defeat one set of apocalyptic nuts we have to accept another. I don't see a lot of change in the weather except each storm is now magnified by 24 hour cable news into a global event, whereas in the past, it only made the local news.

I would be far more frightened by this author's scenario, according ot what I just read here we don't even have 20 years left to prepare for an ice age and no way to stop it; doesn't that give you some pause?

"doesn't that give you some pause?"

No. And lets say worst case scenario for sake of argument, which I am very far from convinced would happen at all. BUT for sake of arguement...
Somehow humanity has survived ice ages before. Without ANY modern technology.
Were too damn smart to get wiped out anymore. People are here to stay, and we are gong to overcome anything short of a major asteroid, and even that if detected soon enough we can prevent.
We have brains for a reason.
Though people who buy into all the doom and gloom predictions are not using them apparantly.
