Oh? So this new mayor is going to magically produce a few hundred million to fund pensions? More like the new mayor is standing in front of a freight train.

...which is the reason why all government jobs should be based on a percentage of the average private citizen's wage. If the average citizen makes $20,000 plus 25% in benefits for a total of $25,000, a fireman would make, say, 200% (danger factor) of that - $50,000. And, like private companies are doing, all retirements would be abolished. A 401(k) would be set up so each person would have to save for their own retirement. This should happen at every level of government.
