Clever. I suppose the bad guys will have trouble telling who is killing whom.

I imagine that a bolt-action rifle could be chambered for the AK round. This would result in superior accuracy.

The special U.S. snipers have used .50-caliber long-range rifles for killing terrorists. Now, they are using the modified AK-47s to kill insurgents without a normal shot to the head. Instead, snipers are killing insurgents with shots to the heart, and creating dissension and doubt in the groups over who is behind the sniping.

Wouldn't using the Dragunov (SVD) or one of the various derivatives of the AK-47, such as the Romanian PSL, which fire the same 7.62x54R round make more sense? The Iraqis are equipped with those as well, and while not as a accurate as US/coalition sniper rifles, have more ability to "reach out"?
