This screed by McCarthy only repeats the same line the Bush Administration has been using from the start. And that is, if a bunch of lies can be thrown at a jury, and the jury believes the lies, then the two Border Patrol Agents must be guilty.

Did someone from DHS lie during the trial? Who? What did they say? How do you know they lied and the defense lawyers didn't?
------
Look it up. An official of DHS admitted that they lied.

It really looks like Ramos is taking the fall with Compean for no other reason than loyalty to his partner. I'm beginning to think more and more that Compean simply freaked out.

No. Not during testimony at trial. At least, not yet because no one has seen the transcript. The fact that some may or may not have lied to Congress has no bearing on the case, as Congress was not adjudicating the matter.

.. shooting human beings on sight just because they happen to be suspects, or here illegally, is reprehensible. It is inhumane. It is against the principles of honorable law enforcement. It is un-American.

Why do Waco and Ruby Ridge come to mind as I read that piece of the piece?

He served in the Clinton administration and under Reno, a scary thought in and of itself, as well as a revolting one. ;-).

Skinner (their boss) of DHS, admitted they "lied".

Lied where? In court? In front of Congress? To a news reporter? All of the above?

Do you want a link?

If you have one, that'd be great.

The ballistic tests failed to prove that the bullet fragment extracted from the smuggler actually came from Ramos' gun. The ballistics expert claimed that it was fired from a .40 caliber auto-pistol model that could have come one of four different firearms manufacturers.

Just another critical fact that Andy forgets to mention.

You know, someone should file a complaint against DHS-OIG for their failure to comply with FOIA. They took exemption 7C beyond all sensible application. They redacted things that are part of public record (e.g. names of complaintants, witnesses). The OIG invokes Exemption 7C relative to the redaction of the identities of OIG Special Agents, investigative assistants, complainants, witnesses, third parties mentioned or referenced during the conduct of the investigation (with the exception of Mr. Compean and Mr. Ramos), personal information relating to Mr. Ramos and Mr. Compean that was not directly related to their conduct under investigation, and any other information (such as geographical locations) which could reasonably be expected to identify such individuals. They even redacted the name of the road that the smuggler drove on! LOL. Then they go on and redact a bunch more, hiding behind the 'fact' that there are administrative proceedings against some of the other agents. It's been TWO Years!!!! My suspicion is they are in CYA mode and just recently brought those charges and have redacted/excluded the information to avoid disclosure of the dates that those actions were initiated. More stinky, stinky...

You want me to prove your assertion? I'm not that interested. I'll just assume you made it up.

The law matters....here is the equation

BP=24 years

SB=0 years (Sandy, a well connected Pol)

The law sure does matter but to who? The law is a joke and has been for quite awhile. The law is now a crap shoot and avoids even an appearance of justice.

a couple questions as to the 'shiny object'.. if you or anyone else knows, Thanks.

what time did the chase and subsequent confrontation and shooting occur?

did the ditch the 'victim' ended up in contain water or liquid or some substance such as mud?

if this occurred at night as it seems to have , what was the phase of the moon and what were the atmospheric conditions at that time?

Incredible, some folks around here think government is pure and noble, a thought often found is socialist circles.

But some of us were around when that US Federal Judge sent Barry Seals to a halfway house where he had to check in a certain time every day.

This was after Seals had photographed Sandinista's loading his A/C with cocaine. Not to mention he gave evidence against the Medellin Cartels.

A whole bunch of money in the dope biz and saint's are far and few between.

Andy sure likes the drug smuggler's version. He must have missed this part where

Compean says

"He was pointing something shiny with his left hand.
It looked like a gun. This is when I started shooting."

The way this thing is all going down makes Waco and Ruby Ridge much more understandable... and, yes, scary.

Yeah, it is ok to lie to Congress. They might lose their jobs for a couple of weeks, but the pols will find new spots in bureaucracy for them. The country has the unindictable and the indictable. Pols and bureaucrats are in the unindicatable catagory unless you go hard right then you are fair game. Or parish the thought that you might be a Christian.

You think it might have helped if Compean had stuffed the shell casings in his socks...?

It obviously worked for Sandy...
