To all of you out there who cannot understand why some dumbass guy would do this...remember...many of them are not that far out of boyhood.

Check out this video from Youtube of a young soldier butting heads with a ram...

I found it to be sad, sweet, hilarious and stupid all at the same time. Here is this young guy, far from home...I don't know why, but it just pulled at my heart.

Sometimes makes you wish you could be there...just to remember how badly you wanted to go home again.

it seemed like something that just had to be done.

"It was a good idea at the time...."

Possibly why mom rarely understood, but dad always did. Let's face it, young males are young males. Those here who are thinking of the FROG first disregard human nature.

This entire incident reeks of over reaction. Not for the punishment, but for a frog!!

Somebody posted that the military was probably more concerned about the video, and that may be true. But you can't discount the possible damage to expensive equipment and the danger of unseen damage that could put a pilot at risk. Not to mention a little larceny and theft.

I spent 20 years in USAF Aircraft Maintenance and I've no beef with the punishment. I do find it interesting that people put here are putting an amphibian first, and seem more concerned about it than the possible damage and other crimes.

From '72 to '93...

C-141A's, C-130A and H gunships, F-4D's, RF-4C's, F-15ABCD's, E-3A's, F-16ABCD's, B-1B's. A smattering of other stuff as needed, A-7, F-105, T-39, C-118, O-2, OV-10, even a B-57 once or twice...

The later group being the one offs and occasional job when those responsible were maxed out and needed help. I was always picked for some reason.
