If Hillary can't carry Pennsylvania then we are talking Mondale here.

I think that is the region around Pittsburgh.

That's Pittsburgh and suburbs.

By the way, look at the "Haven't heard enough about him" results. Huge numbers on most of the candidates - Romney was in the 70's and he is supposedly a top tier candidate.

In truth this poll shows nothing except that the average voter knows little to nothing about most of the candidates. It truly is an exercise in futility to conduct a potential general election poll when a huge majority of voters no little to nothing about the majority of potential candidates.

Clinton, Giuliani Early Favorites In...

In DECIDEDLY BLUE left-wing inner-city bastiens like FILTHADELPHIA, Pennsylvania.

NO WONDER, with not a dimes worth of difference between these two liberals.

This is a poll about name recognition, not about issues or whom someone would vote for, really.

Exactly - therefore its worthless, except that it shows the "second tier" candidates that they need to get to work.

Personally, I am becoming more and more jaded with the process. My guess is that by the time of the conventions I am no longer going to be a registed Republican.

Giuliani's a lib? When I lived in NYC the establishment was calling him Hitler, a racist and a fascist.

No wonder I like him.

Then get ready for President Hillary. Look, I have real problems with Rudy and I'm already prepared to hold my nose while I vote. I really wish there was an electable conservative out there. Ronnie, where are you when we need you?!?!

I won't hold my nose and vote - been there, done that and the country still is marching forward towards European style socialism. If the GOP sells out its principles and nominates a liberal, I won't vote for him. If that means that Hillary wins, then so be it. I'm getting to the point where I could care less.

Yeah, he's a lib alright, and the libs can live with him IF he gets elected as president (since he's SO much like them), but, their main "man" is hillary, or any other liberal dem. If the race comes down to liberal RINO-rudy (God forbid) and any liberal dem, they will come down on him and destroy him in order to get their libdem to win.

By the way, I wouldn't brag about having lived in the Peoples Republic of NYC (a virtual Nanny/Police-State). It is the sheeple of this liberal inner-city hell-hole that put, and keep liberals of all stripes ("D" or "r") in power. If you like RINO-rudy, it's because you have an extremely skewed view of what being a conservative truly means.

It cuts both ways. I live in a rural area, have so for years. Also many years in NYC. Those who only know the country haven't a clue about the opposite side of the coin.

Those who only know the country haven't a clue about the opposite side of the coin.

That's like saying if a person is not a bath house-hopping homosexual, then they can't make an informed judgement about homosexual anal sex.

A conservative Christian, for example, knows enough about this degenerate from of sex to be repelled and disgusted by it, without having to engage in it.

The same goes with those that live in the country or suburbs. We read and hear enough about the crime, corruption, and and other negative effects of liberal "leadership" in the inner-cities, that we want NO PART of it, and anything that comes out of it. Including your boy, liberal RINO-rudy. Many of us are just as repelled and disgusted with the prospect of him as the leader of the entire country, as we are hillary being President.

The Republican party CAN do better, and it MUST if this nation is to survive with any resemblence to what the founders envisioned.

Conservatives should not be concerned about Rudy and his alleged liberal views.
1) On Abortion he is pro choice but would appoint conservative judges like Scalia, Roberts and Alito. He is not pro abortion he is against it and would never advise anyone to have an abortion.
2)On Gun Control, he would not impose NYC gun laws on the rest of the nation.
3)On Gay marriage he says marriage should only be between an man and a woman.
4)He opposes partial birth abortion but would allow it only if the life of the mother was in question.
5)He is a fiscal Conservative.
6)He supports the Bush foreign policy
7) He is a strong leader and a great communicator.

He is acceptable to me and should be for most Republicans.I had my doubts about Rudy but hearing him on the Saen Hannity program alleviated some of my concerns. His poll numbers are terrific and he looks to be the strongest Republican candidate and scores very well against Hillary. If Hillary cannot carry states like New Jersey and Pennsylvania she is finished. Rudy looks very strong and so does McCain but Rudy does have the great communication ability.
