My comment was more about whose pocket the data storage costs would come out of ISP vs. Federal. You are right about the technical feasability.

Yup, those danged old idjits - who do the American people think they are, talking about this constitution thing.

One more example of the problems with the GOP.

This thread has 25 replies. Most of the Anna Nicole Smith threads had 25 replies within the first few minutes, and eventually hit several 100 if not 1000s of posts.

Tells you were FReepers' priority is these days, or rather just how many Conservatives are left. If Hillary had proposed this, Republicans would be falling all over themselves trying to block it as well as being all over the media about it.

Democrats = EVIL

Republicans = STUPID

We need a third party which supports Constitutional principles and the thinking of the Founding Fathers and a strong national defense.

When you can't tell the difference between EVIL and STUPID, there's a problem.

I'm all for a third party and voted mostly third party in the last election.

The problem we face is, the evil and stupid parties are working their butts off to make sure there is no nationally-recognized third party (at least at a level that most Americans don't casually dismiss out of hand).

Regardless of who controls Congress, the key to understanding the seemingly stupid is to determine what interest group(s) is/are pushing the agenda and who stands to make money from it. If interest groups are pushing an agenda, then campaign money and votes in the primaries and in November are at stake. If lobbyists are pushing it, then somebody stands to make a ton of money and somebody else gets a ton of campaign contributions.

"Law and order" is the camouflage but who's going to make money? Consultants? Seagate/Maxtor? Funding for a new level of bureaucracy with a slew of civil servants? Something's going on somewhere and it's not so "stupid" if you're involved and votes and/or money is at stake.
