I don't think that they should be pardoned. I think they should be found "NOT GUILTY".

Since they are being kicked to death in prison, any "review" is meaningless, isn't it?

WND previously reported that at that meeting the DHS Inspector General's office asserted it had documentary evidence Ramos and Compean:

* confessed to knowingly shooting at an unarmed suspect;

* stated during the interrogation they did not believe the suspect was a threat to them at the time of the shooting;

* stated that day they "wanted to shoot a Mexican";

* were belligerent to investigators;

* destroyed evidence and lied to investigators.

Under questioning by Culberson, Skinner admitted DHS did not in fact have investigative reports to back up the claims: "The person who told you that misinformed you," Skinner reportedly replied.

This prompted a startled and angry response from Culberson, who charged Skinner's office with lying to the Texas congressmen and painting Ramos and Compean as dirty cops.

(Seems Justice is still infected with Clintonistas.)

The headline is misleading. There are no transcripts. The judge, apparently helping Johnny Sutton, has not seen fit to have the transcripts released. Seems as if the "justice" department, Homeland Security, the judge, the prosecutor and the white house are hoping this will go away if they ignore it or lie about it.

"The Fort Worth Star Telegraph quotes President Bush of Fox TV network as saying that he is bound by strict federal guidelines on pardons, and cannot immediately grant a pardon to Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean because, quote, 'there is a series of steps that are analyzed in order for the Justice Department to make a recommendation as to whether or not a president grants a pardon,'" Kinsolving said.

I say BS!

ARTICLE II, SECTION 2 of the U.S. Constitution reads:

The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

That's all the guidelines that he needs, and President Bush could do it now if he were so inclined. At this point, he's trying to bide his time and hope that public interest will eventually wane so that he doesn't have to worry about offending his buddy Vincente Fox.

Then he asked: "Was this series of analyzed steps followed when President Jerry Ford pardoned President Nixon even before he was tried; when President Carter pardoned all those draft resisters?"

I've loved Lester Kinsolving since the Clinton impeachment days of yore. I see he's still as feisty as ever. Good on him.

He reported being assaulted by five Hispanic men with steel-toed boots.

"They kicked me in the head, they kicked me all over the body. I'm all bruised and very sore," Ramos reportedly said, adding he bled from his left ear.

What do you want to bet that "the five Hispanics" aren't Illegal Aliens?

I agree with you - they should be found "NOT GUILTY" and then awarded the millions the illegal Mexican is trying to claim for being shot in the butt.

A better question would have been, "I do not believe there is such a requirement. Please provide a detailed description of the formal process that must be followed and list the specific questions that must be answered before the President can use his predefined constitutional authority to issue a pardon in this case, and cite the legal source of these requirements."

(As an aside, I think Kinsolving is an embarrassing dipwick. Why can't we do better?)

Bears repeating.

On Jan. 20, President Clinton gave Rich a chance for a third "do-over." Clinton wiped all the criminal charges off of Rich's record with a presidential pardon on his last day in power. The Rich pardon has received special attention because Denise Rich raised and donated more than $1 million to the Democratic Party in recent years and also provided the Clintons directly with a $10,000 contribution to their legal defense fund and $7,300 worth of furniture.

He's a bigger fool than I ever would have believed. This will get him impeached.

I am very disappointed in W. I think he threw his party under the bus in 2006 just so he could push his brown invasion agenda. He gives the dims everything they want when we had the majority and now sucks up to them in hopes of getting his amnesty plot past the congress. Very disappointed.

If these guys are pardoned, don't they still remain felons deprived of owning a firearm? Perhaps in the long run an appeal and reversal of the conviction is better for Ramos and Campeanos.
