Didn't Matthews also make some weird anti-Southern comment back around the time of the past election, late October or early November?

He was making fun of how some politician wouldn't be taken seriously in the South, and described some fantasy of "stopping at a roadhouse on some highway in the South," and the people in there wouldn't be interested in some particular politician. The implication was about racism.

It was a typical Manhattan-centric fantasy of the South, from a completely bigoted and uninformed perspective. Matthews is exactly the kind of person who thinks he needs to get a visa and a bunch of vaccinations before stepping off Manhattan and seeing the rest of America. Like he thinks we're all stupid animals or something, and we need people like him to "enlighten" us all. When he's just an uninformed bigot.

And to Matthews, I ask, wouldn't it be good if we had a Democrat who wasn't standing in front of the camera during Katrina but had actually been managing the emergency plan, programs for the poor and the millions of dollars that were intended for the levees?
