I believe Watada may and I stress may be sincere. He offered to serve in Afghanistan I am told. If this was so then the military should have downplayed the event and sent him to Afghanistan as he desired. I don't believe he is a coward. The military should know that this has turned into a big propaganda victory for the left. It all could have been avoided and have never reached the newspapers if we had sent him to Afghanistan.

Nonsense. A soldier does not get to choose his assignment.If the military deployed soldiers based on their "desires", the whole system would break down. And Honolulu would probably be overrun with GI's.
