Yes there are. Brutal religious monarchy that has bought and paid for the US State Dept.
Do a little dance
Make a lil' love
Get whipped tonight!
Get whipped tonight!
Maybe we'll eventually find out what nationality these people are. I doubt whether they are Americans.
Most likely they are members of the servant/slave class. Maids and chauffeurs from the Philipines or something of that sort. The Saudis think nothing of enslaving and abusing their maids, or raping them, but they would frown on their going out and having a good time together.
Pure speculation, but that's my guess.
Sounds like it is time to send Kevin Bacon to Saudi Arabia so he can get them to 'cut footloose'!
All of our anti-war protesters would be well served to spend 1 year in this place.
Change in perspective is a wonderful thing.
Amen
Can't say this quote enough.
Churchill sure had a way with words. That guy is probably one of the most brilliant people who ever lived.
But I wonder what he really thought.
"They have their laws and customs, we have ours.
Which is worse - banning alcohol and parties in Saudi or thousands of teenagers having drunken, public, sex at spring break?
You choose, they are both moral extremes."
You lost it there. There is no comparison between us and them.
We've all done a double post from time to time -- I know I have! Don't sweat it. The key to the seach feature is just to use a single word from the headline. For example, doing a search for a headline with the word "lash" or the word "Arabia" will turn up the earlier post.
Oh boy. More cultural enlightenment from the land of the religion of peace.
The Saudi "royals" are also notorious for their debauchery and ribald behavior in the European capitals and flesh pots. Too bad they can't all be whipped after returning home from one of their typical vacations. It would be so fitting.
I wasn't suggesting that those were the only two choices, nor do I condone either.
My point was that each culture tolerates one extreme or the other so we shouldn't be surprised that we find theirs offensive and they, no doubt, find ours the same.
