I really liked the dalmation ad too.
I wonder how they got the dog, after he was shunned, to walk down the street with his head down like he was depressed. Animal spots are very hard to make.
Teaching those guys to ask for a Bud was funny too.
I just didn't understand the Coke black history month one. This year is special because? two black coaches?
Next year if there are two white coaches will they have a similar ad? Or would that be racist?
Go to the http://www.emeraldnuts,com website to see it. There's lots more video stuff there that's pretty funny.
No, it's just my guess.
Yes, and stop calling me surely. My first car was a Corvette.
But they didn't have to beg me for a ride. I'm essentially begging them to ride with me, right? Plus they never took off their tops or tried to wash my car.
Well, your theory is good, anyways. Though the car in the commercial was already full of women, wasn't it? Why not just have a driver in the car?
Oh, and I've figured out that the Naked Cowboy is a New York icon and that's why he was thrown in. I lead a sheltered life, I guess.
"I just didn't understand the Coke black history month one. This year is special because? two black coaches?"
OH YES! Wasn't that pathetic? Give me a break....
...and I guess it's "appropriate" because it's you-know-what month....
I only knew about the Naked Cowboy because of...my husband, again.
So many trivial things about "entertainment" and "culture" I now know only because of him!
He took the Bears and the points for a year's supply of rawhides...
Must be. I just now learned about the "Naked Cowboy". Never heard of him. Actually, why would I?
Thanks , this commercial was good! I'm glad because I like Blue Diamond nuts.
When will we have the first black owner, then the first black owner to win the superbowl, the the first time 2 black owners win their division, etc. etc. etc. Need more black hype here.
"Why even hold a guitar when you can obviously see that Prince isn't even playing it."
I'm pretty sure he was playing it. I'm no fan of his music, but Prince is a pretty good guitar player.
Good point! I noticed that as well.
I think the commercials were way too violent (mostly CBS promoting its own shows) and filthy, like the snickers and several other ones.
The commercials ruined the superbowl for me. Time to get TIVO and not watch any of these 'super' stinkers.
The Colts were having a field day with any ball thrown under 15 yards -- and most were. What, the Bears defense got one sack?
Four guys rushing and the other seven in the end zone waiting for the ball. Worst coaching I've ever seen. Embarrassing.
Even Brian Urlacher couldn't take any more by the fourth quarter. He wanted to get in there, rush, blitz, anything but hang back.
Bears offense? Don't get me started. What, a total of THREE first downs for three quarters of play? A kickoff return for a touchdown, one good run leading to a short touchdown pass, and a long (and lucky) field goal. That's it.
I waited 21 years for THIS?
what did you think of the commercials?
1st black play by play / color combo for the Super Bowl? -- they don't come any whiter than Jim Nantz...
Emerald Nuts
I mistakenly wrote Blue Diamond in my 1st post.
He was not playing it. Of course, I don't think I would want to play an electric guitar in a downpour either.
Probably the worst year ever. The good ones were not as good as the good ones in the past. The bad ones were worse than any other year.
The bad? The gay Snickers bar (what, today's version of The Lady and The Tramp?), the robot committing suicide, the long and overly violent heart commercial (directing you to their web site to see what they're selling), the unfunny and Three-Stooges-violent "we don't do the fist thing, we slap each others faces", and the guys-out-of-control stripping for a car. What self-respecting business would use "Go Daddy" after seeing that adolescent and misogynistic excuse for a commercial?
The bad was bad. The bad was insulting. The bad was degrading.
The good was OK, but not memorable. Coke really made an effort. Budweiser continues to be the best. Teaching pronunciation to the immigrants was good, "But he has an ax" was good, the monkey in the zoo smiling for the picture instead of stealing the beer, the "spotted" dog.
But nothing to talk about over the water cooler. We need more horses, more monkeys, more frogs and lizards, exploding mosquitoes -- clever, funny, feel-good stuff. Anybody can make "shock". And that's all we got this year.
