Suing your state bar is hazardous to your legal health.

But I always thought Jack was more combative than bright.

I was wondering if he'll show up on this thread and start making threats.

Jack has always brought out the best in FR (lol). Just look at all the "old" Freepers in the early posts.

Good news indeed, but you just know this isn't the end of the Jack Thompson Show when it comes to baseless legal action ...

Batjack is nuts, but I don't think he should get in trouble for private notes he writes to other lawyers and judges. I simply dont buy this whole charade that lawyers are this august body of "officer of the court". They deserve no more respect than any other profession.

No, I don't recall seeing that, but it doesn't suprise me.

We are officers of the court and a part of the process--and believe and respect whomever you choose....

I am a member of the class of 1998. I would love to know the 98 posting names of the folks that are still here. I miss those days and late night chats. If you wanted to know what was taking place in the world back then you could usually read about it first at FR. Those are certainly great times to remember.

The term activist Judge said it all. Hmmm, I don't think we're talking about some rogue Republican here? That corrupt political swamp keeps getting deeper.

In my opinion FR has slipped a little since the early days, but that is because the "startup" Freepers were a mature and serious group dedicated to and more narrowly focused on conservative issues. The early Freepers engaged in more intellectual and detailed duels. Those posting "one liners" and unsubstantiated opinions were quickly and methodically hammered into a corner. FR has now expanded to a much broader selection of posters. The current trend of discussions is for more "one liners" and opinionated barbs (myself included). And it seems as if there are more "packs" of posters attempting to intimidate and stifle discussion with coordinated "one liners" rather than with facts. One can still get the same high quality information from FR, but they have to sort through a lot more BS.

I'm picturing him working the late night counter at McDonalds.

I might go to watch that, but I sure wouldn't eat the food....

During my lurk & reading years, when I was still too novice a computer user to figure out how to sign up, I remember learning more than I wanted to know about Janet Reno from his posts.

Thompson submits nothing beyond wild accusations of a vast conspiracy against him that the Bar is unfairly proceeding against him.

That's always been his reaction. I'm not saying more because I don't want to be sued.

"Did he ever make good on his threat to sue various people on FR?"

Not that I ever heard. I really hope they disbar him this time. Nothing in the article was surprising after his FR antics.

I saved the below from then. The links don't work anymore, but this gives an idea of some of the material he posted.
