"Since hanging was the norm in the time of the Founding Fathers, how could it be deemed cruel and unusual now????"
Because the Founding Fathers did not have the benefit of the wisdom of the ACLU yet.
Remember the movie Hang Em High? That works for me! Make a day of it, pack a picnic lunch, let the kids out of school. Could even sell tickets... to fund education, of course.
In the case of Terri Schiavo we were endlessly told that is a peaceful and humane way to die.
Feed 'em to the lions. Zoos spend a fortune feeding their animals, so a free meal now and then for lions would be very helpful.
I think anyone who questions lethal injection as a means of execution, should first undergo the procedure so they can speak from experience.
"Fine, ban lethal injections.
Bring back hanging and firing squads"
Why is it that the libs never blink when a full term baby is stabbed in the head and its brains sucked out when it is in the birth canal but scream about legal injection?
My theory is that any perp should be executed by whatever means they carried out their crime. I have no sympathy for rapists, murderers, etc. AND, that is one thing Iraq has going for it, they allow only one appeal, then the execution must be carried out in 90 days or so.
