cool ...

I am glad he was treated so well, it would have been hypocritical if they had treated him any other way.

I sincerely hope the young man finds Jesus at that church.

I don't mind a megachurch so long as it doesn't require megacommunion.

They treated him well, like the Christians they are. I can't say the same about his behavior, though. And who knows what he's putting into his upcoming book to stir up sales.
To: SubGeniusX
Puh-lease! He showed up there with media in tow, hoping the spot would garner interest in his book. It won't matter how the church treated him.
Every non-believer is reading this article thinking, "I didn't know you could find 14,000 dupes in one place."
Having said that, the church did treat him properly.

I agree glad to see he was welcomed warmly ....
and it also appears that he was very respectful in his actions while visiting also ...
sometimes things like this can breakdown misconceptions on both sides

Maybe I need to become a deviant.

I glad they showed him the love of Christ much more humbly and without a holier than thou attitude than you both seem to be taking ...
Way to be a proper witness for Christ fellas ....
I'm sure his attitude would be right in line with yours ...

Associate pastor Rob Brendle saw Jones in the foyer.
"I told Mike, 'I don't want to impose my religious beliefs on you, but I believe God used you to correct us, and I appreciate that,'" Brendle said.
Way to go Brendle. What a hireling

I am not exactly the most religious person in the world. I still do not understand why God allows Perverts, thugs, bling bling gansta rappers, etc(ie deviants) to become wealthy and hard working people (like myself struggle from time to time. I am not poor but I could not stop working if I wanted to. I worry about bills getting my kids through a private Christian school education.

I have been a So. Baptist for 65 years, even when it was not cool to be one. I had never heard of Ted Haggard as well.
We have enough terrible stuff going on the Tennessee Baptist churches to not concern ourselves with other "Evangelicals"
My own mega church is going through a terrible time, with most of the congregation letting Satan blind them into believing that a pastor that cover up a pedophile on the staff for over six months just didn't know any better.
He is a weak girlie man and should be thrown out within the next hour.

Farther Along
Words and Music by J.R.Baxter and W.B.Stevens
© 1937 Stamps-Baxter Music
Tempted and tried, we're oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all the day long,
While there are others living about us,
Never molested, though in the wrong.
Refrain
Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.
When death has come and taken our loved ones,
It leaves our home so lonely and drear,
Then do we wonder why others prosper
Living so wicked year after year.
Refrain
Faithful til death, said our loving Master
A few more days to labor and wait,
Toils of the road will then seem as nothing
As we sweep through the beautiful gate.
Refrain
When we see Jesus, coming in glory,
When He comes from His home in the sky,
Then we shall meet Him in that bright mansion,
We'll understand it all by and by.
Refrain
Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by.

Knock off the crap.
I would have treated him exactly as that congregation did. Forgiving him doesn't mean his conduct was anything other than repugnant. You do understand he admitted he went on talk radio to expose the rev in an effort to influence our election, which had a gay marriage proposal on the ballot?
