Words almost fail here. . .but perhaps we could just call this another aspect of the Left's
cultural cleansing for
names that do not resonate with a
positive.
Or; perhaps, like 'Oprah'. . .and Cher. . .and one-name et als; Barak might decide to drop 'Obama' as well. I mean; it does rhyme with Osama. . .he cannot like that.
(I KNOW I don't.)

ANyone else remember 1988 and all the mentions of "J. Danforth Quayle" by those on the left? I had forgotten this; thanks for the memory jog. Apparently, The Washington Post has forgotten as well. (Incredible. ..)

Or he can ask to be called B.H.Obama. You know, like B. B. King, O. J. Simpson, or simply J.J.. The latter is my last tennis partner whom, when again I asked him what his name is, he responded, "J.J."

I make it a point to refer to Barack Obama by his initials.

"The Washington Post mounts its editorial high horse to denounce those who use Senator Obama's middle name "Hussein" when mentioning him."
Why? Is something wrong with the name Hussein?

Luther has been a perfectly acceptable middle name for the number one black Icon of the last century, in spite of the obvious religious connection.
Double standards?

This would be merely juvenile if it weren't so contemptible. "Barack Hussein Obama" is apparently taboo in their editorial stylebook, though I seem to remember John Fitzgerald Kennedy and Hillary Rodham Clinton being printed with some frequency. Lyndon Baines Johnson, anyone? Actually, the spirit behind the "Barack Hussein Obama" thing is contemptible. Somehow, because his middle name is Hussein, he is supposed to be disqualified from being President?
Frankly, anyone who would reject a candidate because his middle name is Middle Eastern is someone I don't want in my party. My decision regarding Obama will be made on the basis of his record, not because his Kenyan father gave him a name that sounds like Saddam's.

The Washington Post actually calling anyone contemptible?
Over merely calling some two-bit Senator by his full given name?
Laughable.
Do these vermin at the Washington Post look at themselves in the mirror in the mornings at all?

Btw, wonder how many journalists on the WaPo staff have similar names?

I'm also kind of partial to the name Ted Kennedy has given him: Osama Obama.
