My sister in law was at a talent show just before he became
famous. She played the guitar and sang too. She has a
picture with Elvis' arm around her and he is dressed to the
nines. I wonder if that picture is worth much?

I thought you would get a laugh of the Hound dog dressed like Elvis! I should have brightened up the picture a bit.

Parker made a fortune promoting the miracle tonic Hadacol (12 percent alcohol, listed on the tonic bottle's label as a "preservative", 25 proof I think) very popular in the dry counties of the Bible Belt.
Damn, we hillbillies liked it.

The early Elvis of the late fifties was just untouchable. He was a great singer, performer, etc., so superior to what we have today.

That's a beautiful post devolve. I love your starry sky!

I remember Hadacol (as a name). I didn't know he promoted it. Likewise, Geritol liquid was very potent.

Elvis didnt write anything to my knowledge, in fact, I've always just assumed that someone else wrote his songs. The early Elvis just performed with an acoustic guitar, with was a stage-prop as much as it was a musical instrument.
To: groanup
Thanks for the ping, groanup. Elvis is a Southern classic. Confederate Railroad has a great song called "Elvis and Andy" (Presley and Griffith).
