Same here, freema. My last day as an Episcopalian was Pentecost Sunday, 2003. I was a lector. I went early to read through my scripture and was breathlessly told, "We're not having any scripture readings today."

Someone (a female priest) had decided at the last minute to make some freestyle changes to the mass.

I knew before then I would leave; that just made it inevitable. I learned 7 months before that the Rector was anti-Israel, the presiding Bishop was anti-Bush and anti-WOT, and then there was the gay/lesbian thing.
