This from the guy who couldn't find his own a$$ with a mirror and a flashlight.
Sounds like He agreed with Blix to me as well.
There is no evidence that carbon emmissions cause global warming. In fact, the warmest decade occured in the 1930's, BEfore there was a 24% increase in (harmless) CO2. Temperatures since 1930 have never reached that high again.
In fact, both greenland and artic ice finished the century with an net INCREASE in mass, and the earth actually cooled.
Global warming is all hype, and temp records and countless other studies proove it.
"Insert Jimmy Carter and Hans Blix into the space vacated in the wall and reseal. "
Are either Carter or Blix fans of Amontillado sherry?
"Do you know how f'in busy I am Hans?!"
Actually, since nuclear weapons cannot detonate sans human action, global warming IS more dangerous as it is coming from the Sun and we cannot effect the Sun's action.
What, no sharks?
THIS is the guy that the UN trusted to find WMD????? (Head in hands)
I thought that global warming was caused by nuclear reaction going on in the sun.
That's the only part I agree with.
I disagree with this part of the sentence. Nuclear power is a good idea, but the reasons have nothing to do with "carbon emissions". Carbon is what life is largely based on, and carbon dioxide is essential to plant life. Carbon dioxide is NOT a pollutant. As first stated by another Freeper, my personal goal is to increase my "carbon footprint" (BS liberal phrase) by ten percent per year the rest of my life.
IF global warming were real, it would be a good thing, not a bad thing. In the past all climate change that made for a warmer earth has been beneficial for the planet. If the planet warms we will have much more land for cultivation, more space for people to build. The land reclaimed from the cold areas will more than make up for any we might lose from rising sea levels. Notice I said IF. I am have seen no real evidence that the climate is warming up and IF it is it is undoubtedly caused by the fluctuating radiation of the sun, NOT human by products.
Silly you.
Look up the word "expert", and you will see Han's picture.
Getting behind are we?
:)
Problem with new land opening up and old land disappearing is political. Mass human migrations are not often real peaceful. While Canada might take in 100,000,000 Bengladeshis, I'm not sure we'd want them too - and India definitely does not want 100,000,000 Bengladeshis.
No, that was that Hans Brix fella, totally different animal...:P
Baloney. Besides which, it aint gonna happen so shut up already.
This global warming stuff is just so much nonsense. Maybe - MAYBE - the globe is warming. It did the same at the end of the last several Ice Ages, and at the end of the so-called "Little Ice Age" of medieval times. Oh, and BTW, those cold eras ended (i.e. the globe warmed) WITHOUT HUMAN INDUSTRIALIZATION!!!!!
Those who believe in global warming, Gaia, etc. are irrational and anti-religious - they have substituted Man for G-d. This is why they think that we can dramatically affect the climate of an entire planet.
The truth is that Nature (i.e. G-d) dwarfs man and his works. Global warming is caused by solar radiation, and that radiation is actually on the wane...prepare for cooler temps in a decade or so, and cooler temps for decades after that.
Another truth is that the proponents of global warming are nearly universal in their hatred of the West, and their desire to see ultra-expensive programs put into place to cut energy use (which, of course, they'll take a piece of the action in some way or other. This is about greed, power and arrogance, not the climate.
Here's the correction:
Another truth is that the proponents of global warming are nearly universal in their hatred of the West, and their desire to see ultra-expensive programs put into place to cut energy use (from which, of course, they'll take a piece of the action in some way or other). This is about greed, power and arrogance, not the climate.
So, in either case, if there really is Global Warming, we should simply adjust and move on. What's the big deal?
