The majority of the nation no longer supports the way this war is being fought; nor does the majority of our military.

Where is his evidence for this charge about our military? It seems to be a statement that is simply made up. If Webb were a Republican, he would be challenged on this. Since he's a Rat, it will probably go by unnoticed.

Is he aligning himself with the Edwards Presidential run? Isn't Edwards, the rich and famous lawyer, the one who is always saying how much he understands the two america's?

Has any one ever done an in depth analysis of the CEO to worker pay, because their is something not quite right with that stat that they used to only make 20 times a common worker?

"In the early days of our republic, President Andrew Jackson established an important principle of American-style democracy"

Andrew Jackson was a pox on the Republic -- the very sort of person the founding fathers warned against.

I think you are on to something there. Yeah to Edwards their are two Americas the one where the super rich like him get to have what ever they want and the rest of us have to give it up to save the planet.

Edwards lives in a real mansion not a McMansion like the rest of in Cary and he is telling us we need to cut back on the size of our homes because they use to much electricity.

In my opinion, Andrew Jackson was about as close to a true dictator as we ever got.

I'm still not sure I can watch the SOTU tonight. Having to see Nancy Pelosi behind Bush is enough to make me puke.

I saw Webb in action during the Petraeus confirmation hearings today. I was very unimpressed.

Looks like Webb hired Pelosi as a speech writer.

Other than the ref to his dad. How the heck did he fit that in there?

"This moron is an embarrassment to my state."

You got that right. He was elected by all the non-Virginians (DamnYankee liberals) living in Northern Virginia.

As I look at Iraq, I recall the words of former general and soon-to-be President Dwight Eisenhower during the dark days of the Korean War, which had fallen into a bloody stalemate. “When comes the end?” asked the General who had commanded our forces in Europe during World War Two. And as soon as he became President, he brought the Korean War to an end.

Wgat crap. Ike ended the "war", but the spectre of North Korea still haunts us. Ike failed us. Ike cut and run.

Further, this is the seventh time the President has mentioned energy independence in his state of the union message

And the Democrats blocked it every time. I do fault President Bush for not making that more evident, but the primary blame goes to the Democrat obstructionists.

Ask the Cherokees what they think of Andrew Jackson.
