More good news for us fiscal conservatives. Romney continues to line up conservative support in congress:

On Friday, January 19, Governor Mitt Romney announced that U.S. Representative Tom Feeney (R-FL) will serve as a key liaison to fiscal conservatives and organizations promoting fiscal responsibility in Washington. "I am pleased to have the support of Representative Feeney. He has been a powerful watchdog for fiscal responsibility in our nation's capital. I look forward to working with him as we strive to restore basic fiscal conservative values, curb runaway spending, and protect taxpayers' money," said Governor Romney.

Well I'm still not making up my mind until I hear from more useless former GOP House leaders. I'll wait until Bob Michel throws down his gauntlet

Who is Denny Hastert? I forget.

I think he plays President Palmer on "24."

Why?

Basically 5% of the GOP is worth a damn. The majority are not in it for ideals, they're in it to get power and keep it. They'll sell out the constitution in a heartbeat if they think it will guarantee them more power. Few will stand up for a widely unpopular but constitutionally valid position.

It's becoming apparent on threads for rudy and romney that the problem just isn't with the leadership, it's also with the followers. They'll support a RINO - not with claims that they posses great ideals and would advance a limited government platform. Instead their main arguments are either "He can win!" or "He's not so bad!". Damning with faint praise.

Or they'll say the only thing that matters is the war on terror - it doesn't matter that rudy and romney are gun grabbers and closet liberals. Gotta win that war on terror while the country collapses from within. Can't do both. Gotta win elections. Real conservatives can't win elections. The media doesn't like them like they love the RINOs! Well, they love the RINOs until they run against a democrat. CAn't mention that though. Rudy and romney can WIN!!!

So what if these RINOs can supposedly win. What happens when they do win? They collude with the democrats and fritter away whatever opportunities they have. They expand government just as much as the democrats -and even worse the usual opposition from the republican party isn't their because it's "our guys" that are doing it this time. We cede the normal balance because we're not supposed to question it when OUR leadership is selling out the constitution.

Both parties are taking us to hell in a handbasket. The only selling point for the GOP is that their trip will take a little bit longer.

This will send the haters over the edge.

Why? I don't know of one single person who is motivated or enthusiastic about that blob.
