Anything but, Katrina has helped make the state MORE GOP by decimating the corrupt Orleans Parish vote. We're winning more and more downballot offices, and I fully expect us to do very well this year, perhaps the best since Reconstruction.
If he wins, I really like his future in national politics.
You're right of course, I tend to paint with too broad a brush in exasperation. I love the state. An absolute paradise for hunters and fishermen. I think when Nagin was voted back in I was so astounded that I was speechless--and should've stayed that way!
No offense intended and how well I know about small pockets of conservatives no matter where one lives. A native of the Rio Grande Valley taught me that!

Screw the Senate..give him two terms as governor, and he can run for the WH..
