Good question and he was even reelected in '04 with the same stance. The only thing of legislation concerning illegal immigration that President Bush has signed to date is a border fence bill but congress hasn't funded it except for a down-payment which he also signed. Oh almost forgot, he sent National Guard down there too.

What you said. His second term has not been too great, and it is nobody's fault but his own. He is the one who keeps antagonizing his most supportive base, and no one else.

more rationalizations from conservatives who backstabbed their president.

Bush backstabbed himself with his "New Tone" and immigration sell-out.

GW trieD to overhaul Social Security to protect it. Guess you forgot about that. THe border agents were convicted by their peers for COVERING UP the incident. Do I agree with their conviction, no. They still might get pardoned. Tax increase, that article had a question mark. GW has fought harder than any predient in a very long time to keep taxes low. Are you thanking him for that? No. Just bitching because an article that there might be an increase. The borders are a problem and NO PRESIDENT has ever handled it. Did you abandon Reagan? Probably no.

Gw could pardon the border agents tomorrow, put up a border fench, kick all the illegals out and some here would still be backstabbing him. It is called NO LOYALTY and shows the CHARACTER of the person that does it.

What do we call soldiers that abandon their comrades and flee when a war statrs or it is not going perfectly? We call them cowards and traitors. I wonder what people that abandon their party leader when things do not go exactly like they want should be called? The soldier that leaves has no loyalty and the voter that abandons his or her president during difficult times has no loyalty.

"3,000 dead in Iraq. That's all it takes to turn on our President? More Americans died in the first 72 hours of Iwo Jima. Give me a freakin' break. Americans have just totally lost their sense of sacrifice."

maybe Americans are worried about the deaths here at home....

yes, I vividly remember both his 2000 and 2004 acceptance speeches were he spelled out his hardline on immigration. All those photo ops with Pat Buchannan at the convention pretty much spelled out at least an implied promise to do what you wanted on immigration.

Don't worry, you will get precisely what you deserve from a Democratic Congress.

Its a crying shame that Al Gore couldn't have been there for you.

GW has keep your arse safe for six years

Borders are wide open

lowered your taxes

Tax cuts create more tax code complications which inevitably got swallowed up by higher government spending (Medicare Part D)

appointed two of the best suprme court justices ever

Remains to be seen

given us a great economy

Bush has done a horrible job talking about the economy

all while fighting two wars

Bogged down by political-correctness, MSM propaganda, & liberals in both parties who are hamstringing our troops

Okay, the president starts talking about raising taxes (read http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1771195/posts for a real blood-pressure-raiser-- I can't believe my freakin eyes!). What would you have us do? Bend over and get "Deliveranced" because he is Our Leader? You're dang tootin I'm going to say something about it. It's not backstabbing if the guy knifes you first.

Conservatives do not raise taxes. What about this do you not understand?
