I do believe that it's a waste of time running anyone without executive experience for President.
To answer your question definitively, Stefanie from his Washington office says that the Senator is not considering running "at this time".
Perdue isnt a good choice...he has a land scandal that dwarfs whitewater..it didnt catch on in the govs race, but it would sink him in the general election
Look at a map of the electoral college for the last several presidential elections. It's not the south where Republicans have trouble winning. If Ohio had gone for Kerry in 2004, Kerry would have been President. In 2006 Republicans got clobbered in Ohio in the midterm elections.
Only two senators have ever been elected President, Warren G. Harding in 1920 and John F. Kennedy in 1960.
Hope Texas John Cornyn is in that list. He has a good resume and is all that. But he doesn't have a machine behind him plus the rest of the country may not be ready for another Texan. :o) Maybe in '12.
I wouldn't walk across the street right now to see any of the GOP presidential hopefuls. Hoping it starts looking better real soon.
And no women have been elected President, but that doesn't stop Hillary from running.
There's never been a black man elected President, but that isn't stopping Obama
There hadn't been a Republican Governor in Ga since Reconstruction and now Sonny Perdue is on his second term.
