"Anyhow, what is your beef with me?" Perhaps clearer communication.
To: A Citizen Reporter
Why is that a "spin?" The article says that local attorneys more experienced in criminal defense are skeptical that Devlin's law firm can handle the case - not just in terms of skill and experience, but because if they take it pro bono, that means the legal firm itself has to float the expenses of depositions, expert witnesses, etc.
It is a very real fear that if the legal team messes this case up, that if guilty, Devlin could walk anyway because the case was mishandled at some point along the way, including suing his lawyers for malpractice.

Just so you know Halls is a straight arrow on this case. She wants what is best for the boys. Her only concern is that Devlin does not get off on a legality. I think you are barking up the wrong tree here.
To: valkyrieanne
you are right, I wasn't spinning, but apparently I'm not clear enough, lol! Not that I have to be clear enough or owe anyone a precise explanation.
Anyhow, it worries me that Devlin could have to be retried or get a mistrial due to his lawyers not be experienced enough. I want Devlin to lose, but I want him to lose fair with good lawyers.

I didn't say you owed me anything.
I said you didn't communicate well. I still don't think you do.

I really think they will go for the split personality--paranoid out--they will try & get him moved into a bigger more liberal section of the country. They know he kidnapped the boys--now how can they get him off. Just ticks me off, but that is what they are up to--Denco

the old jekyll and hyde defense. I can see that. Doubt it will work, but I can see that being his pathetic defense!

I am surprised that NAMBLA is not on his side.
To: denco
If that is the plan, I doubt it will work for them. The DA will have a say in it.

No he does not like it. He is "downcast". Very sad, isn't it?

you are right, I wasn't spinning, but apparently I'm not clear enough, lol! Not that I have to be clear enough or owe anyone a precise explanation. Your comments were very clear to me. Many trial lawyers in St. Louis all went to St. Louis University Law School. They know each other; this is a close-knit "big small town." If they think Devlin's lawyers are out of their depth, they're probably right.
To: Halls
I, too, think it's a ploy by his defense to make him sound like he's a mental case. I also think they knew or approved of the media interview. In the interview with the media that I read, Devlin did say that his lawyers wouldn't allow him to answer certain questions pertaining to the case, so they must have known the media would get him to do an interview.

To: Theresawithanh
yes they knew, but are going to act like they didn't to the media. They are going to try to make Devlin look like a mental case however they can. It won't work and the judge and jury are going to see through all of this.
