Nonsense. "But if your heart is already failing..."; their heart would most probably not be failing if they hadn't strained it with the extra weight before.

The primary story of this thread is pretty thin gruel. It's nice to hear they're going to do the exercise study. There were interesting results with diabetics.

An obesity paradox in acute heart failure: analysis of body mass index and inhospital mortality for 108,927 patients in the Acute Decompensated Heart Failure National Registry.

The Causes of Heart Failure

That's a decent primer on the causes of CHF, aka congestive heart failure, from the American Heart Association.

Correlation and causation. Geez.

Consider - if you are thin, and suffer a heart attack, it's probably a rarer but more serious occurrence. I wouldn't take this as carte blanche to eat, drink and be merry.

On the other hand, if the aliens from outer space invade, they will be the first ones eaten

Depends on whether they like their long pig "Dry" or "Greasy".

I'm hoping for "dry" :) But my 7.62 Nato G-3 is hoping they like "Greasy".

Oh Man, you have to precede something like that with some sort of alert.

"Warning Cankles Ahead"

or something like that.

Well there goes the good night's sleep I was hoping for. :-( .

They can eat me. But they can never take away my FREEDOM!
