Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert sits in the Knesset, Israel's Parliament, during a session in Jerusalem, Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007. Israel's military chief, Lt. Gen. Dan Halutz, has resigned, the military announced early Wednesday, yielding to widespread demands that he pay the price for Israel's flawed summer war in Lebanon. The decision to step aside prompted calls for Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz to follow suit because of their roles in Israel's largest military operation since 1982. Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle! Who would EVER have suspected THAT?
Israel's own Jimmy Carter.
And he probably believes he knows more about how a country SHOULD be governed, and does less to put that knowledge into action, than even the "Shan" (previously known as the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001").
Last year's engagement in Lebanon was just one more example of "restrained" warfare. It does not work.
Excellent news and not a moment too soon!
The article said -- "Israel's Olmert facing resignation calls"
He was never a good leader for Israel. In fact, probably a disaster.
Where's Netanyahu? Come on back, Bibi!

The problem is that his fall is likely to see an even-more Dovish leader take his place, given the present makeup of the Knsnett.

Ummm..., that's bad news. Tell me it isn't so... (ugh!)

Most of Kadmia is relatively dovish, plus Labor, plus the rest of those.
Combined, Likud and Yisrael hold something like 40 seats out of 120.
If there were new elections, they'd win a combined majority and either Netenyahu or Lieberman would be Prime Minister.
MONKKKKK you are bad MONK ROFL
I like ittt ROFL
That so funnyyyyy ROFL RACK ITTT
hehehehe
Too Good!
FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel/Russian Jewry ping list.
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
Aren't liberals fun - when the chips fall, they have nothing to support them. Our buddies in Isreal should have whacked him when they had the opportunity. Maybe the right, here in the U.S. would have caught on to the idea. Oh, i'm sorry, that's sedition spoken fluently.
Very fluently.
SS
Sharon really, really left a mess behind. By starting a new party and leaving Olmert in power, with Peretz as well, he ensured that even if Olmert resigns or is jailed, there still won't be an election as long as the liberals who control the Knesset can prevent it.
Parliamentary maneuvering excluded Netanyahu the last time around, and it's likely to do it again.
The article talks about a prosperous economy making the voters happy. What good is a prosperous economy if the country is handed over to enemies who intend to destroy it?
God has rescued Israel from similar betrayals in the past, and that's about the only solution to this mess that I can think of.
However, he is afflicted with the same disease as Olmert, Barak and the rest...
They want to be loved by the West.
The tainted love of these people will bring only destruction, not peace to Israel.
Destroy your enemies Israel or the sea will be your home.
