All tyrants buy off the people with goodies and promises in the initial stages...from the Pisistratids in ancient Athens to Julius Caesar in Rome to Mussolini in the 1930's. The only difference is that since Hugo is a leftie you will never hear the press badmouth him.

If you notice in the article it states that "trade unionists" are a big part of the travelers to visit the socialist utopia.
Who controls the public schools? UNIONS! Is it any wonder that they refuse to teach the true history of communism and socialism?

The Venezuelans I know all loathe Chavez and what he's doing to their country. Wealthy Venezuelans have already started to split and I suspect more middle class folks and professionals will follow. The only people left will be those getting favors from Chavez, brainwashed true believers, and the very poor.

I have just read "Atlas Shrugged" and Ayn Rand called it like it is "LOOTERS". I am planning to reread the book and suggest to anyone who has never read it to read the book.
