Someone from our local People's Organic food Cooperative (real name)told us a story of how the head of Organic Valley http://organicvalley.coop/ decided to import bananas from some rural village area in Venezuela. The buyers went down to make arrangements. They, of course, landed in Caracas and were totally shocked to be told they were not to go outside at night and never alone, even in the daytime. At one point they witnessed people openly carrying AKs. None of them ever wanted to return to vacation.

I have no idea if the banana deal was ever completed.
