I don't think you're on the Haditha Marine Ping List, but I went ahead and posted the piece. The tapes (and lots more) can be used in follow-ups.

By the by, I put a link to the 1992 article on the page. If you blog anywhere, please help spread the word. We have to keep pushing and make something happen.

No, I'm not on a ping list. Don't even know how it works, but please add me if that's okay. Your piece was great.

Speaking of making things happen, a freeper, flightline, posted a comment earlier about two NCIS personnel(Ernest Simon and James Connelly) involved in thw leaks in this case. I've been searching for their names in connection with previous cases, but came up empty. I'll keep looking, but any more hints or direction to look in?

Thankyou

I've now read a few accounts of NCIS abuse and have noticed something they have in common.

None, that I've read, give the names of agents involved.

Jonathan Turley and the two JAGs on the defense tore apart the NCIS--but, thinking back, I don't recall them naming a single individual.

Even the recent article in the NC Times about the Hamadania case didn't give the names of the agents accused of fabricating statements.

Doesn't that seem odd? These guys aren't secret police. The names of the accused are all over the world as murderers. But we don't know the name of the lead investigator on the Daniel King case, the Hamdania case, or the Haditha case?

If there are names out there, and I've missed them, please let me know. Curious.

Special Agent Robert Hyter did the polygraph...we can try looking for names associated with him.

Kelly Garbo (female) age 25 interviewed Hamdania Marine.
I have the link if you want it.

Lil, got the link, thanks. "Agent Barbie" sounds like a rank incompetent. Mail to you.

Euphoria, did you read the NC Times report about the 25 year old agent, Kelly Garbo, in the Hamdania case? Sounds like the NCIS has a recruiting drive for young female agents. Gee, wonder why?

I noticed, as well, that most articles don't mention any of the NCIS agents or prosecturors. There were actually quite a few names in the Turley/Bailey/Freedus letters to the senate committee. Here's what I've gathered so far for the Daniel King case:

Judge James Winthrop - Judge who finally threw out the case; also referred as CDR Winthrop, JAGC, USN
Lt. Mindi Seafer -Prosecutor
CDR Mark Newcomb - Prosecutor and Force Judge Advocate(FJA) for the convening authority
CDR Lara Lynn Jowers - Prosecutor
CDR Roxie Merritt
SA Robert Hyter - Polygrapher
SA Stewart (Stuart?) Wilson - 1 of 2 primary investigators
SA Helen Sherry - 2nd Primary investigator
SA Kelly Murphy SA = Special Agent
SA Kenny Rogers (who knew?)
SA Alex Bedoya (mentioned once early in investigation)
Dr. Michael Gelles -NCIS psychologist

Other notables: NCIS director David L. Brant, VADM Mobley, CDR Klant (only mentioned once -don't know who this is)

Have not found NCIS investigators, SA, etc. for Haditha, Hadamania in any print sources except as mentioned by flightline. Still looking.

Maybe SA Kenny Rogers was in charge of the music during interrogations. Hearing The Gambler for 19 hours at a time would get me to confess to about anything.

In the Hamdania case they rolled the corpsman, Bacos and then everything went downhill from there. It appears the prosecutors have rolled Sgt. De La Cruz in the Haditha case. Wutrich's attorney is disputing the statements of Sgt. De la Cruz. Sounds like Sgt. De la Cruz is gonna be the first to take a plea deal in the Haditha case.

Remember this thread?

Today, I had the privilege of speaking to a person very close to the Haditha case.

That person confirmed that Phil Brennan's source, the unidentified Marine, is a knowledgable insider who is known and respected.

I didn't doubt the veracity of this analysis, though some (like the late tomcorn) did. Still, I was happy to have this piece confirmed as trustworthy and wanted to pass that on.
