she's not going to score any "cut her some slack because she's hot" points.

And she gets the inverse for me since she reminds me of the hag that married my father 20 years ago(He's passed on, so I no longer have to deal with that angry woman).

I don't think anyone who has looked at the evidence will say that global warming isn't hapening. The issue is what is causing it. I believe along with many others that this is a natural process that occurs in regualr cycles. We all know that there was a major ice age 10,000 years ago, and just 3000 years ago we came out of the mini ice age.

To get back on topic, this is why many people no longer get their info from the weather channel and instead go to accuweather.

I don't like him. His voice is annoying, his sports analogies and metaphores are terrible, and he just plain gets on my nerves.

I've been trying to figure out the fascination with him for years. It's unfortunate that someone like Bastardi who is basically an embarassment to meteorology is also a GW skeptic - makes everyone else look bad.

I think people find him "authentic" BECAUSE he's ugly and doesn't have a slick voice or delivery - and his fanbase is largely made of people that have slightly more interest in meteorology than the average man on the street, but not that much meteorological knowledge, who also LIKES extreme weather. Bastardi basically provides "Weather Porn" - possibilities of various extreme things presented in a way that seems definite but actually is pretty vague, that don't pan out 90% of the time.

Also the columns are just poorly written and IMHO do a poor job of educating people on meteorology - a guy like Joe D'Aleo (back when he had a column) on Intellicast was miles better.

To be honest Accuweather is worse than the Weather Channel. They actually hype more, and on several occasions I've seen them flat out lie, particularly when they're taking cheap shots at the NWS. There are a few good rank and file Mets at AccuWeather but the organization is rotten at the top. Keep in mind meteorology isn't like a lot of industries - it pays more to work for the NWS than AccuWeather and the first choice of a top student out of school is virtually always going to be the NWS over private industry.

That may be true, but whoever does the segments on Fox News seems to be not so hype driven as the weather channel and didn't blame Katrina or Rita on global warming, but instead a natural cycle in Earth's history

I really feel, from a thermodynamic standpoint, that the Earth is NOT warming--merely in the warming PHASE of one of countless weather cycles that have occurred since there was enough atmosphere on Earth to have a climate.

There was a post last week about the head of TWC. She transferred over from CNN, and has been pushing the man-made global warming garbage.

Heidi Cullen, who hosts the weekly global warming program "The Climate Code,

OK, well I guess if we do away with the non believers, she'll get better ratings.

It seems to go wherever Al Gore visits. Maybe he was in town today.

You know, I think he may have been at Harvard. I was late turning on Howie Carr, syndicated out of Boston, so I'm not sure if he and the callers were joking about Algor being in town.

Was there a car burning on an abandoned lot?

I find Joe's music references annoying, especially when he tries to adapt the lyrics, say, to a Bruce Springsteen song to fit his forecast.

I do like his over-the-top style on his videos however and his genuine enthusiasm for the weather. He is not afraid to put himself out on a limb. Sometimes he is spectacularly wrong but more often, he is ahead of the curve. For example, he saw the current cold pattern coming for the past four weeks, way before anybody else was talking about it and when most people were writing this winter off.

The Weather Channel’s most prominent climatologist is advocating that broadcast meteorologists be stripped of their scientific certification if they express skepticism about predictions of manmade catastrophic global warming.

Forget Global Warning. I think broadcast meteorologists shouldn't even be awarded certification until they can accurately predict a three-day weather forecast.

NUREMBERG-STYLE TRIALS PROPOSED FOR GLOBAL WARMING SKEPTICS

That’s great it has become a war crime to have a questioning mind. It is a crime to use the Scientific Method when questioning the Scientific Orthodoxy.

We are entering a new Dark Age. Thanks to our Liberal opposition one questions the Green Party’s “Save the Planet” line at their peril.

I'm sick and tired of these academic twits and their junk science garbage on the Weather Channel. I've gone back to raising my own wooly worms - their accuracy and reliability is better.

It's real hard for me to understand the emotional hysteria of this warming thing. It's as if a magic wand can be waived is the U.S. and it will all go away.

I say let the green trees take care of natures hiccups, and make plenty of o2 from the CO2 that these useless air breathers are exhaling so frequently.

Whoever the hell Heidi is...she may get her wish, but first the Democrats in Congress are busy doing away with conservative talk radio so it will be a little while before they get around to decertifying all the scientists that don't mimic the party line.

"Global Warming .... freezing CA oranges on the trees this past week."

You are obviously one of the unwashed masses and can't understand the nuances of Global Warming. It actually means that in highly selective places the unbalance will cause people to be instantly frozen in place ala "The Day After Tomorrow". You reactionary fool! ;)
