Sounds like Chicago under Al Capone.

I'd say Bush has his priorities screwed up..

Yep everyone entitled to an opinion...... good or bad

Curious, I wonder how many of these pardons were for currently running sentences or for felons that were just entering the incarceration phase or had yet to finish the appellate process? Have any idea?

If they go to general population, it's most likely a death sentence in time for these two.

Perhaps they shouldn't have cleaned the scene of evidence and lied on their reports.
Personal responsibilty is Conservative.

There are two messages going out.

1. If you are a border patrol agent, do not agressively enforce the laws of the United States.

2 If you are a Mexican and want to run dope into this country, we have paved a smooth legal highway for you. Come on in the water is fine.

Bush has come to be a huge disappointment, and I cannot understand why he will not defent the border and do what is right.

Do you think Libby watched these proceedings and is questioning whether or not he will be pardoned?

You know folks, something just occurred to me, if yo buy the prosecutors version of events, why wouldn't the agent who fell down while attempting to strike the alleged smuggler with his shotgun just use that shotgun to shoot at the fleeing suspect? I mean, you have a longer sight radius, if using buckshot you have a greater chance to hit, and if using slugs the suspect probably would not limp to an awaiting van after taking a (I assume) 12 gauge slug in his buttock. Please any thoughts,.....

Gotta give Hume Credit -- he covered the story accurately.

Even interviewed a BP officer, who made it clear that this whole mess could make it very difficult for the BP to do their jobs in the future.

Over a quarter million letters to the White House expressing outrage and asking for the two men to be pardoned; let's hope it works.

Boy Clinton must have some powerful stuff on Bush to do this.

Read "Compromised, Bush Clinton Cocaine", by Terry Reed.

Before anyone calls tinfoil hat on it, ask yourself, why did Strobe Talbot use two full pages of Time Magazine to attack the author?

Why did Slick's chief of security, Captain Buddy Young, Ark. State Police, do a bogus investigation and have Reed charged with a crime that had nothing to do with the state of Arkansas?

Even the federal judge that ordered a 'not guilty' verdict entered into the record (concerning Reed) said it stunk.

And I'm waiting for sinkspur to come back and I'll let him goad me into giving further cases involving conspiracy to kidnap, murder la de dah and so forth (I got the case numbers too)

Brit did an excellent job of coverage indeed. I hope the president goes back and thinks about the whole issue again, and this time gets it right - Pardon them!

Wonder how many have given consideration to unintended consequences, of this terrible outcome?

...these two jokers.

1) You're pretty self-righteous, calling these two scapegoated border agents "jokers."

2) If there is a "joke," it's on those of us who expect our government to enforce our immigration laws and secure the border, and instead get a "justice" system that runs to grant immunity to invading drug-smugglers in order to go after the border patrol.
