So sell your Home Depot stock if you don't like the way YOUR company does business. Would you sell your share in a good real estate investment deal of the manager of the building you own is contracting out lawn mowing to his friends for $1,000 an hour per man?
Would not the logical solution to the situation be to go after irresponsible employees who are enriching themselves and their friends at the owner's expense.
If being a shareholder makes you an OWNER, why do you only see the choices as letting the Board of Directors cheat you or meekly selling your stock?

If Barney had his way, they'd just fund abortions for poor people so as to lesson the income inequality. Oh wait, they already do that...

These people should lead by example and sell off everything they have and give it to those who didn't "win life's lottery."

If someone who did such a poor job that he got fired gets $210 million, where is the competition? The competition comes when the Executives are being recruited and hired, that's when the contracts are written. That the BOD hired an unqualified Executive is the issue. As you know, when hiring people, EVERYBODY who does it long enough will hire a dud occasionally. Hiring Executives is really risky. If they can't sell themselves, they won't be able to sell your company.
I am not trying to defend to exhorbitant payouts or the process, I just know how it works..

If Nardelli got $210 million for failure, I wonder what he would've received for doing a good job ? If his employment contract had severance terms tied to stock options or company valuations, he very likely would have gotten much, much more severance.

There is some humor here, a lot of these so-called over-wealthy people donated to the democratic party... their money is coming home to roost.

Scrooge McDuck swimming in his money vault is the popular image. I'm sure most Democrats think Bill Gates has one just like it. ;)

ok, so can we assume that everyone on Frank's staff makes the same income? His office chief of staff and the mail room clerk make a Congressman's salary?

That parable was the inspiration for my post. I have mentioned it in many conversations with liberals and I might as well have been speaking Swahili.

As a fellow fan of HLF I figured you knew, so I gave you a rhetorical answer:)

Never mind that America remains the most upwardly mobile country in history. Or, that most rich did not start out that way. Or that, of all the qualities that go into income success, hard work remains the most important.Democrats are never ones to let the facts get in the way of their ideology.

Another thing Reagan said, to paraphrase: "It isn't that liberals are ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so."

I was one of those who didn't comprehend the acronym. But definitely recognize the prudence of everyone purchasing a Chastity belt and putting it on backwards, before bending over.
