*Founder's day they had people dropping babies right off the boats too*

But the family supported their own children.
The citizens of the town, county our colony did not have to pay for their medical, education, food, etc as we do
in San Diego, supporting tens of thousands of illegals
and thousands a year crossing the border just in time to
have their kid at our expense at one of our hospitals and thus making the kid a U.S. citizen. They then get all of our benefits.

If this is an argument to support funding illigals, it doesn't fly.

I see you are in New Hampshire. I have several dozen ancestors who settled there in the 1600s. Those who could not come legally and support themselves were indentured servents as two of my 9th great grandfathers as they were 16 yr old soldiers from Scotland captured by Cromwell 1652 uBattle of Woster and as Prisoners of War sent to the colonies and served for several yrs as indentured servents.

No it is an argument for a very literal interpretation of the Constitution. Please re-read. Do you know what towns your ancestors settled in? I'd be curious.

Quite a few Presidents were Congressmen at one time or another: Andrew Jackson, James Madison, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Rutherford B. Hayes, to name those who come immediately to mind.

But the relevant question when one discusses Duncan Hunter is this: How many Congressmen have gone DIRECTLY from the House to the Presidency?

I can only think of one -- the tragically ill-fated James Garfield.

Mitt and Kerry are from the same neck of the woods.

Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzeneggar are both actors who became Governor of California. Are they two peas in a pod?

Personally, I do not know who I would like to support for Prez in '08 but I do know we need to do whatever we can to stop the Hillary! juggernaut.
