I said taking of an innocent life (which an unborn baby surely is)and it most certainly is murder according to the Catholic Church, which Gov. Ritter professes belong to, which is the point, which is what this thread is all about. Gov. Ritter can say anything he wants, if he does nothing, or "has no agenda" to correct this legally permitted abomination to God with the power and influence he has he is not pro life.
This is not at all comparable to the Pelosi situation.
It's like the former Gov. Cuomo (NY) situation, which was explained in the link.
The taking of an innocent life is not the definition of murder. There are many lesser offenses for the taking of innocent life, with lesser punishments, from second degree murder to manslaughter, to negligent homicide. There are also takings of innocent life that are not punished at all, accidental death or a justified killing.
You are demanding that Ritter perform a futile act, like King Canute. So long as Roe is on the books there is nothing a Governor can do to stop abortion. If you want to be angry at someone, be angry at all the "teach 'em a lesson" conservatives who sat on their hands and helped flip the Senate to the Democrats, preventing the confirmation of a fifth pro-life Justice.
You're talking "legal" as in state/federal law. I'm talking God's law. Many laws in this country are gravely immoral and an abomination to God. I expect a politician who proclaims he is Catholic publicly, to be a good Catholic publicly, so does the Church, so does God.
The U.S. Catholic Church has no balls when it comes to confronting RC politicians who are pro-abortion. I left a long time ago and have never looked back.
Is is not okay for the Ordinary to "stay out of it" when Catholic institutions under the direction of a Catholic religious order within his jurisdiction misbehaves and causes scandanl, or otherwise ignores the teachings of the bishops and the Church Magisterium. This response by the Archdiocese bodes ill for any sort of courageous behavior on the part of either Archbishop Wuerl or Cardinal Keeler in the future.
All of their personal public statements on the need to safeguard the preborn and the institution of marriage are but empty words without courage in action.
