A Priest can not ask each communicant if he has just gone to Confession. In a regular parish setting with regular parishioners, that is true. But, in this thread we are dealing with a public official who has publicly sinned and publicly celebrated her sinning. No priest who knows who she is should give her Communion (unless she publicly repents, which isn't likely). It is a sacrilege and affects his soul as much as hers, if not more so.

He was a ding-a-ling in Pittsburgh before this. Nobody should be surprised. Amazing how easy it is to take a cheap shot at a good "Man of God" from behind a keyboard?

You missed "...the Holy Catholic Church...", that IS part of the Creed. As a Catholic, I kind of hate to bring this up, but in every version of the Creed I've read, it says holy catholic church, not capitalizing catholic, and thus, to me, meaning the universal church (ie. all Christians) and not the Roman Catholic Church. That's what I've always thought, anyhow. I'm likely wrong, but it seems to me that they should capitalize Catholic if they were using it in some form other than universal.

Dear Mr. Cunningham,
In response to your email to the Archdiocese concerning Nancy Pelosi, I write to inform you that Mrs. Pelosi is not planning to speak at St. Leo the Great Church on January 2, 2007. Mrs. Pelosi will be attending a ceremony to rename a street in Little Italy on January 2. On her way to that ceremony she has informed the parish that she plans to stop at the church to pray privately at her familys pew before moving on to the ceremony.

However, when Protestants see politicians such as Kennedy, Pelosi, Tony Williams, Kerry, and other Catholics openly defy their Church teachings without repurcusions, they conclude the Church is excusing and abetting evil.************
It's shameful, the behaviour of these CINOs.

I agree EXCEPT, HOW does a Priest KNOW that that person did not just go to Confession??? Very tricky. They don't. It's out of the priest's hands.
They may be able to lie to a priest, but they cannot consciously "lie" to God and get away with it.
(and that goes for errant priests and bishops too!)
That stuff adds up, and unless they are honest with themselves and confess their sins and repent, God will deal with them accordingly.

the link has an interview with Pelosi and she KNOWS that she may be refused Holy Communion at any time, that's why she goes to diffreent churches!!That's just breathless in scope. If this is true, she is practicing deception so that she can receive the Eucharist?
What's wrong with this picture?
Words fail me on such a thing.

He/She, she priobably, said I was drunk and not a good witness for Christ because she thought I hijacked a Pelosi post!!! LOL!! Last Laugh and I had a great debate and she thought it was a phoney set-up.....believe me, it was NOT!

A term I heard for these type of Catholics is Cafeteria Catholics. I'll take that and this but I will not take this.

Yeah... I read it. I am so stunned at the arrogance that is out there in regards to the Eucharist.
How does she justify such a lifestyle?
I have a wonderful book titled, Anecodotes of the Cathechism, that I often read either before or after Mass. In it I read many stories of the reverence that is held for the Eucharist. I will try and link it to you tonight. It is such a wonderful read, and so very inspirational to me.
It is published by Roman Catholic Books.
To: cammie
I think you are right...catholic DOES mean Universal in the Creed, HOWEVER not ALL Christians, as a matter of fact ONLY Catholics believe that the Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, which is also part of The Creed.
