I think the survey is a pantload too. Congressional Republicans WERE the problem. We had a triple majority, and FUMBLED IT AWAY.

Congressional Republicans were in fact the problem. Funny how much they lost once they decided they knew better than Rove...which is what they have been doing since 2004.

Gawd, stay away from politics if this is all you have to offer!

Ain't that the truth. Carl can thank the Swift Boats vets for doing his job in 2004. Oh yeah, I do remember a couple of states that had some issues of gay rights that helped the GOP in 2004 but the main reason Bush won in 2004 was votes against Kerry due to the Swift Boat vets. Then in 2006, the issue of gay rights and flag burning had played out for Karl. The Pubbies lost big time as the Dems were claiming their issues of illegal immigration and conservatism. Rummy had nothing to do with the losses. He was only a scapegoat.

I know nothing about Rummy except he has seemed a sincere man. Maybe I am fooled, if he is not.

Before 9/11, though, I remember he announced that he was going after Pentagon fraud and waste to the tune of hundreds of $Billions over the years. Then 9/11 happened, and that went on the back burner....forever, I suppose.

If I was Rummy, I'd be saying "Screw the whole bunch of you, I'm going to try to enjoy the little time I have left, with my family."

If it's ignorant it surely would appeal to you.

Rummy is both sincere and was a great Sec of DoD.

That said, it's obvious that if the Iraq war was going swimmingly, Bush's poll numbers would be higher and the Congressional GOP would have better ratings too, and the Democrats would have had precious little to run on in 2006. their negativity on Iraq helped them avoid standing for anything.

Iraq and Rummy's leadership on it was a factor in the election, and Bush did what he had to do to respond to it. Tomorrow's speech will be our "Plan B" approach in response.

There you go again.

... taking pot-shots at other conservatives is sooo unnecessary.
