There ya go. The answer to free speech is more free speech.
To: newgeezer
Gee, what an intelligent conversation.
They may as well ask how the Dalai Lama would react if Donald Trump asked to marry him.

And the threads are generally on target. But what I'm talking about is having threads where we openly discuss the hanging of lefty journalists and politicians.
Shall we proceed?

You'd ban him?"Ban him" from what, my house? Absolutely.
I love free speech because it helps me to know who the dirtbags are.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary.)
To: zook
People actually listen to this show?? Imus, like Dave Letterman, ceased being funny at least 15 years ago.
Can you imagine the outrage that would follow if Rush, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, et al were to joke about executing left wing politicians or journalists?

In my book that does not make you a jack-booted thug.

Imus is one of the most dreadful humans ever to get airtime. He covers his awful butt with his time and efforts for charitable causes. He NEVER EVER stops reminding people of all the good he does for the children (with his wife as cheerleader), and this allows him to be as despicable a person as he wants to be.

Here is his Wikicrapia, he's currently a contributor for the Herald.

I think that 60 Minutes ought to hire Imus to replace the late Ed Bradley. Old, scary-looking, and irrelevant, Imus would fit right in with his whining nonsense. Of course, he'd have to get permission from the even more scary Deidre, since she is the one with the testosterone in that family. BTW, how's the vegan ranch going?

Schadenfreude: in Boston, WTKK is cutting out one hour
of Imus' show and chopping Barnicle's show in half (decision
made before all this):
Imus 6-9 am
Barnicle 9-10 am
ha!
To: leadpenny
Yeah, the only jackbooted thugs are the traitors on that show fantasizing about the hanging of fellow Americans who liberated 25 millions people in 2 countries. Imus is a fraud, through and through.
To: newgeezer
Speculating about hanging our Vice President, Secretary of Defense and other American government officials.
It doesn't get any more disgusting than this. This was on a public radio show???????
These guys sound exactly like sociopathic jihadists! The idle banter and wishful thinking of terrorists in training!
This is sick sick sick. Dehumanizing your political opponents to the point of viewing their murders and deaths as a casual, even pleasant, speculation.
Lokk at which regimes in history have done this and look at the "ordinary" people who accepted, rationalized, supported, even participated. And this was the underlying cause- the ability to dehumanize and detach from fellow citizens.
These guys are whistling a tune from the book of genocide.
This is taking American political opposition to new lows, even for liberals.
I presume these lefties are among those who decry the "meanness" of Ann Coulter for calling the Jersey Girls publicity grubbers.

I caught the beginning of Scarborough on MSNBC last night -- talk about being corrupted by people you associate with. The whole lot over there is corrupted.

Well, the I-punk did sound like he was getting off on his description of the death of Vice President of the US and the Sec of Def, he didn't get to the CIC because he ran out of time. They laughed about the VP having a heart attack before hanging also.
His admiration of the butcher of Baghdad did sound like the political porn the Bushaters have been reduced to tho, lol.
To: TNCMAXQ
Since I've been a fan, Imus has not been funny. Bernard, Lou, Rob, Larry and others are funny. Imus' interviews are matched by none . . except maybe Brian Lamb.
To: leadpenny
How would you act if you were going to the gallows? How the hell do you get off uttering this?
Who T.F. do you thing you are?
roses-of-sharon said NOTHING to merit this. Reassess yourself this morning. While I normally appreciate your comments, you are out of line this morning.
