Of course, really. Haven't you been following the story?
This came out at the last hearing. It was confirmed again just a few minutes ago by Meghan Kendall Kelly on Fox News.

I do not have an ounce of sympathy for that lying witch. She's no victim and this is not the first time she falsely accused three men of raping her.

Step out of the way of all the libs stampeding to the "truth" in this case, now that the visible evidence is apparent to the world.

Where was Susan when Nifong was spewing about lynchings and hooligans to all that would listen.

How 'bout some contrition for earlier damning of the players... or the stark silence in the matter.

Actually it is more likely that the police and the DA got a tidbit from her making an excuse for the condition she was in and the place she was in and pushed her so that she felt she had to come up with more tales to support her original excuse. I am sure they were telling her how noble she would be to go public with these heinous acts against her, how good it would be for her community, and how hard it would go with her if she recanted the first thing she had said. They did their job. Nifong won his election. He is a Democrat. Anything is Good if it leads to power. The police have probably heard ad lib charges from the likes of this woman many times and a few questions showed there is nothing there but all those other times Nifong wasn't running for election and needing high turnout in the black community. If Nifong successfully retains his position now, his campaign methods will become part of the Democrats' playbook.

Since there's no more rape charge...

The woman prostitute and stripper, Crystal Gail Mangum, is a liar.

By the way, NONE of those 5 men's DNA were from the accuser's boyfriend. Now what does that tell you?

and the president of the university is a coward.

The president of the university is a liberal and the situation so fit his assumptions that he just knew that such a chance to prove his and the university's rectitude and liberal credentials must be seized. It does not show him a coward at all. A cowardly liberal is one that fears to grab such an opportunity and run with it because he fears the publicity.

I was surprised to learn that Susan Estrich was herself a victim of rape.

Was that in the article? If so, I missed it...

Just exactly who did Mike Nifong think he was doing a favor by pushing forward a case with an alleged victim who, the minute she spoke, would inevitably be massacred as a lying slut?

Himself. Obviously. "Maybe" reelection was all he cared about? "Maybe"?!?

Otherwise, Prof. Estrich gets it ... almost.

She doesn't say this, but it's implicit in her article, that the woman should get away with making these most injurious accusations. Estrich treats the accuser as a victim of ... the DA. Talk about feminist double-think!

Look, these are not charges that will disappear once the case is dropped. The charges will follow these young men around as long as there are fellow-travellers like Prof. Estrich to point and whisper that they were let go on a "technicality".

The only just thing to do is to charge and try this woman; who if (ha!) convicted, should face the harshest penalties allowed.

And imprison Nifong for corruption and malfeasance. That too.

I know what you mean. That woman's face is about as appealing as the face on an iodine bottle.

That his 'ho/stripper girlfriend is so disgusting he has to "outsource" his romantic duties....? ;^)

Well, except she is saying that the 'victim' is the true victim. Sorry, I don't buy that. It's just feminazi logic, is it not? And she doesn't have to take responsibility for the lying because HE is now responsible? He was responsible for protecting her from HER lying?

That probably is not in the job description for DA.

Nifong should be prosecuted or, if I had my way, hanged. This woman has irrefutably 'damaged her reputation' which she actually had been working really hard to damage for some time, if I am not mistaken.

And the young men, truly victims of malice and treachery, should be given full scholarships by Duke; plus an apology; plus what? I would be furious if I were their parents. "Innocent until proven guilty" is the law of this land, and the University President, Nifong, the press and any number of others totally blew this off. Disgusting.

"Would that really be dear to Susan's heart in this case?"

Well, I think that actual victims' interests would be. I would think she would be offended by someone like the Duke stripper/whore, who could make it that much more difficult for people who are truly victims of rape, as far as credibility. Basically, the liars are hurting the overall cause of the (real) rape victims. I don't know how well I'm making my point - ?

And you don't see it for good reason. Estrich sees the obvious conclusion and then heads off in the other direction. The woman is no victim. She's a bold faced liar getting whats coming to her.

"Was that in the article? If so, I missed it..."

No, I was bringing information in that I knew of previously. It seemed relevant to me, because normally one would expect Susan E. to side with the woman, but in this case, all things aren't equal.

"...and while she is partly to blame..."

Partly?! WTF? If she hadn't gone running to the cops with false charges - the Duke lacrosse team would have been able to finish the season and 3 young mens lives would not have been ruined. Partly my ass.

As much as I detest Nifong, he didn't make this woman a victim. She did that to herself. Zero sympathy here for the "veteran/student/single-mom-trying-to-make-a-living."
