"I would put his speaking ability under such situations right up there with Reagan."I agree! Have you read WHEN CHARACTER WAS KING by Peggy Noonan?
I just so admire, respect, and genuinely love Dick Cheney!!

Snugs, I share your opinions there. Of all of our options for a next president, Cheney would be ideal...if only his health would allow it. He is, I believe, as great a gentleman as was Ford; and his wife is as wise and gracious as is Betty Ford. We've been very fortunate in this nation to have had these great men as leaders--and to have had leaders with such wonderful wives beside them.
(You Brits have had a wonderful leader in Margaret Thatcher. I think of her in the same vein as our own noble leaders.)

Never has a greater tribute been given by one man to another.
Cheney would be this nations BEST choice for President should fortune turn his heart to running. Another major terrorist incident would vindicate his and GW's choice for war early. And, I believe the GOP would "draft" this man.

It is an injustice that the Rats and the lib media has not allowed the public to get the right picture of VP Chaney. He is a brilliant man and his eulogy of Pres. Ford was masterful and eloquent. Chaney has never received the high praise he rightly deserves as a leader,a speaker and just a decent man.

God Bless America. I just had to tell you, snugs, I got the goose bumps when I read that from you. Thank you so much.
Your observations of our leaders are acute and profound. I so appreciate the respect you show to these incomparable public servants. I admire them for their character, fortitude and so much more. As an American, I do feel blessed, especially at a time of pomp and circumstance such as this.
And I am grateful for your unique and heartfelt friendship from across the pond.

It's that low-key Nebraska style, totally lacking in pretension and fanfare, instinctively skeptical yet rooted in honesty and plain virtues.
May God bless Richard and Lynne Cheney abundantly in the coming year...

Cheney's eulogy was beautiful. His eulogy for Reagan was beautiful, too. Expertly delivered. Who wrote them?
